still with a cold

Today is Thursday and Steve is still not feeling well. He has become very emotional and said he was just so sick of being sick. (It has been over 2 weeks with this cold) I thought of all of you at that moment and wondered how he will do when he becomes very sick. I kinda had a flash to the future and it scared me. He is so strong and so independent and always has been that kind of person. How will he be when he is not that anymore?  I can't dwell on that or it would drive me crazy. I think of all of you so often. You will never know how much it means to share my fears with people who are there now or like my good friends who have been thru it .
We had made some good plans for the weekend prior to getting these colds. We need to go if he thinks he can do it.  We are going to Maggie Valley NC for a big car show and then go over to Asheville NC with a group of people who belong to the Roush Road Crew.  These folks are coming from Michigian to the show and then cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway with out Roush mustangs.  Some good friends have signed up to go and we are hoping that he will feel better by tomorrow afternoon.  We both are on antibodics so we will keep our fingers crossed!
My dog Maxwell ( who by the way is a member of the family) will not be able to go.  Lord knows carshow people would croak if a dog peed on a wheel LOL. We have arranged for a sitter for Max. (just like a child)  Maxwell has not been feeling to good since we took him to the vet on Monday for shots and treatment for allergies.  I think he had a seizure last night. He has never had one before so he scared the crap out of me.  We talked to the vet and he stopped all of his meds until we get back!  You know if you are a animal lover that our pets become a part of us.   Our oldest daughter asked me once if Maxwell was in the will?  hehe   and joked that he is the brother that she never had.  Our youngest who has 2 yorkies think he is just spoiled and she tends to not "study it".  That is one of her favorite things to say.  I am too busy to study that . I guess she is, she is a nurse with an 11 year old child and tries to just keep up with a 40  hr week job.
I will close for now and just wish the best for all of you. To Linda and Kathy I am praying for each of you.  I hope I haven't bored any of you.  I love you all.  Wanda

Wanda, hoping you both feel well enough to go on your adventure for the weekend! Know what you mean when you talk about our strong and independent men, but I\'m sure they just get so tired of not feeling well! Hope all ends up okay with Max, too. The pets keep us sane here, our dog Chaya and cat Dusty. We like to talk to them. Love you, Karen

I hope that Steve feels like going out this weekend. The mountains should be nice and hopefully a little cooler. I think it is mens DNA to be crybabies when they have a cold. The little things seem to get to them and they just save their energy for the big problems. GF has increased his pain meds but everything else is going well

Hi Dear Wanda!
Sorry to hear that Steve is still feeling terrible. I, too, pray that y\'all will be able to get away this weekend. The car show sounds like such fun...and how I adore Maggie Valley and Asheville.
The name Maxwell is too precious. We have a little female schnoodle that we named Louline, for an old aunt. They truly become our children. Aren\'t they so much easier than the real things were?!!
Love you, girlfriend!

Dear Wanda - hoping very much that the pair of you are back to your old selves, and have enjoyed a very happy and sniffle free weekend away....
I know what you mean about Steve being tired of being sick. D doesn\'t voice those feelings too often, but, the last time was his birthday, and he just cried and cried, not wanting to feel so sore and sick and tired on his birthday of all days. Horrible - but, it was a flash in the pan. Each day is a new day, and I\'m amazed how, in the face of his physical state, often he somehow manages to rejuvenate.
Love you Wanda - I think of you and Steve often, and send many prayers

Dear Friends, our men are amazing the way they battle. He was off and on sick with naseau this weekend. Felt very sorry for him. I would have just curled up in bed but he kept on going. And thank you Carol for the comment about my fur baby!! He was so glad to see us. He kept doing his happy dance!! I send all of you hugs and smiles this morning. Wanda
