The Ambien is probably less addictive than the Xanax. Xanax is a pretty potent benzo. Be careful weening off the Xanax. I was on Klonopin about a year and it was difficult to kick. Did you think about letting your doc know so he can ween you off? A lot of docs are seeing the need to taper patients off these potent benzos.
You are definitly doing the right things. But, take it easy with this class of benzo. I would hate to see you relapse as a result of rebound depression or anxiety.
