still on the right path

What a wonderful weekend we had!  Saturday night my husband and I went to the Easter Vigil at church.  It was a beautiful ceremony and very moving.  Unfortunately, my husband was extremely tired and was struggling to keep his eyes open.  Between the soft music, the soft voice of the speaker, and being that the first half of the over two hour ceremony was in the dark (except for the lit candles) my husband said it made it all that harder to stay awake.  So here we are and his cell phone vibrates.  It was our second born needing a ride home from work.  He leaves and comes back thinking church was nearly over when he discovers it wasn't even half over.  Then my husband's phone goes off again.  This time it's T.  We missed the call.  By this time it was 11PM (the time we told him to be home) and so we had to leave.  The timing was okay because we were able to received communion and then we left from there.  T just called to let us know that he was on his way home!  It was music to my ears!  Late morning yesterday T, my husband, and I drove 2 1/2 hours south to visit our oldest son, S, at college.  When we left we had about 7" of snow.  About 15 minutes into our drive, not a flake of snow was  on the ground!!  It was so strange.  Anyway, we arrived and had an awesome visit.  Seeing our oldest made me realized how much I miss him.  Since he's an RA he has his own dorm room.  It's huge - leaving more room to make messes!  He had just arrived back late the night before from his trip to Eygpt, had exams and papers to write before he left and a whole lot of other RA responsibilities leaving no time to clean up!  So we went to work - cleaning his room, vacuuming, cleaning his bathroom, and helping him do his laundry.  It took no time at all. That left us time to go out to eat.  Unfortunately, there were no nice dinner places open.  We ended up at a Mexican restaurant that he and his friends like.  I've been to plenty of Mexican restaurants but ........ let's put it this way....it was the worst dish I've ever had.  My husband and T said the same thing.  S cleaned his plate!  I'm glad one of us enjoyed it!   Soon after we ate we were on the road because T was chomping on the bit.  We told him to relax but he said he has a hard time staying in one place (reminding him of house arrest).  So we were on the road hoping to get back in time for T's AA meeting.  We didn't make it.  He went out instead to one of his new friend's house (who is also in recovery) and watched a movie.  I told him I wanted him home at 11pm and he said OK!!!  No arguing!  And he then came home on time!  This is going to take some getting used to!  I love it!
