Still Not

When the caseworker went to pick up his rental car for the northward trek yesterday morning, the car rental agent discovered his driver's license had expired on his birthday a week or three ago. Unfortunately, his bureaucratic niche isnae so well established as to accomplish an emergency renewel. Off to the waiting room for you, my noble dreamer. Civil service isnae the most bonding element in turn of the millennium culture.

The good news is that the delay allowed the two grandfathers to get on the same page in regards to the children, after much housing project lawyer conjecture from the other grandfather. The man is quite the housing project lawyer with political angles to work for just about everything in life and a generous supply of words and opinions to expostulate from. My branch of the family tree is rife with housing project and jail house lawyers. I have a generous supply of coping mechanisms to ply during the unwelcome experience. Hubs has no such coping mechanisms. If there is a housing project or jail house lawyer on his branch of the family tree, I havenae met them yet. Not too many of my birth family antics made it across the fortified 1800 mile barrier I put between that birthright and the family I gave birth to. Second-hand tales donae do justice to the journies through creative delusion.

Lawsuit lotto antics aside, the two grandfathers worked out a plan to help the children through this phase of the transition. I feel far more comfortable receiving children who are prepped for a drive to their favorite vacation spot than children who have been recently traumatized by adult politics. Turning their favorite vacation spot into a place with rules and structure will be an entirely different transition, butttttaaa. . . More small steps, big prayer and willingness to let God lead the dance.

The extra day was also highly beneficial for loosening the gut knots in my strictly personal belly. I am feeling far calmer this morning.

Prayers in progress. . .

Yesterday's insanity with John I was on the ceiling ripping my hair out in clumps as I drove home! Normally I grab a cd to play, and have recently been playing loud rock to get myself to move...music will give my body that message, then my mind start up and my body can go to work.

Instead of cd, I tuned into a public radio station and this is the first song I heard...love this guy!!! I thought about you because of the beauty of listening to the guitar playing...the title also seems to encompass my mood....your situation too?

Arfie, sounds like quite an upside to the delay. Children will be better prepared for the change. Grandpas are talking. You'll get time off when they visit the other set. They are happy with you, and will get it about some rules. Really glad you are calmer.
Miro, nice song. Thanks.

About an hour ago I got a text from the caseworker that they are on their way. Best case scenario puts their arrival at about two hours away. Then there is gridlock and all the other etceteras that make a less than best case scenario.

Yea, the family related grandpas talking together might be unprecedented in my personal herstory. . . I didn't know you could get two old bulls to share a herd. Does we need to revise the biology books for this one?

Hope your interview visit goes smoothly and swiftly....It's always better when co-grandparenting can work but I will say it is one for the record books, it almost never happens......
