Still no job
Well, it's been 5 months so far, and still no signs of a job. I've applied for jobs, but still haven't heard anything from any of the people. And here on Long Island, there doesn't seem to be any jobs at all. Some employers dont want me because I am "over qualified"-why does that matter if I agree to make less than my former job? I just need enough to survive on-that's all I need. Also, when they check my references, they get told that I was fired, but not told why. What will I tell them? Noone wants to hire someone who got fired after 10 years. It all seems so hopeless. and I feel like such a loser-going from the manager of a program to a nothing. I never thought I'd be in this position-I loved my job, and thought I'd be there until I retired. I guess you can't count on anything these days. Well, hopefully next time I write I'll have better news. Thanks! Kathy
