Still Kicking...
Just checking in to let you know I'm still alive and kicking.
Still planning on moving.... Packing and trying to decide what I need to let go of (Is hard but need to thin the list . I'm working on it. Lol)
Roofer needs to complete the ceiling in office and work will be basically done. BIL is supposed to come and do landscaping and little touch up here and there.
I've been battling with cable companies for almost a month. Is a very long story, but I decided to switch over to Xfinity from Directv & Verizon. Will be $70 instead of $200 a month. Have wanted to switch for a long time. (Now I'm thinking I should have just waited til I moved and paid the extra) I have been without internet since the 11th.... Without cable since the 17th. Was so fed up 3 days ago told them I was going to call yesterday and cancel the whole thing and make do without it. Amazingly enough, I come home to men working in my yard and under the house. (Modular prefab) And tomorrow they are to hook me up.
Still in contact with new friend from DE, but don't see often or chat alot. May dip a toe back on another dating site in a bit once situated but not right now.
This is getting very real is just a little harder having to push and do all myself. Wish I had someone to work with me and make a little easier and go a bit quicker.
Just wanted to check in. Take care everyone.

I congratulate you on your perseverance. I hope your move goes smoothly. It's a lot of work, but the nice part is how organized and free of clutter you can be after you move. Years ago when my husband and I moved here, I had 3 little ones and a lot of activities, so I wasn't able to do that. We came with all the "stuff" just thrown into boxes. Now, over 30 years later, with kids grown and husband deceased, I'm working on some of that stuff. I've whittled away at it for a long time, and still have a ways to go, but am glad of the progress. After I'm gone my daughter will be glad too, that she isn't landed with all that stuff her super-saver mom collected. I look forward to hearing that your move has been successfully accomplished.
glad you are getting things done. Yes, it would be nice to have someone to help and chat with. I know the feeling. So hard to let go of things. Hugs and be safe. As for those tech giants. Bunch of grifts. All those commercial saying if you switch you will be saving big bucks are just too good to be true.
Kim are you moving into your Mom's house? it is so much work to move....I hate it until it is done and I am settling into new place....that is when I find so much of my work was worth it....anyway I hope your dating life gets you some worthy fellows....not just one but choices of several....LOL I know it is more fun when they are crawling out of the woodwork like cockroaches...>hehehe No not really but kidding....More than one just makes it easier to let things go slow
Just a different take. Packing and downsizing for a move is really stressful on a relationship. My husband and I fought more “working together” on the packing, sorting and purging and what not than we have in our entire 20 year relationship. It was only quicker because I finally told him to just get rid of all of it because I’m not doing this any more.
I know it’s overwhelming. But you are in charge. You are doing great!!
Nice to hear from you. Good luck with the move.
I hope that your move goes smoothly. i know what you mean about having someone there to lighten the load but you've got this !
wishing you happiness in your new home and hopefully your cable is connected now, how much we rely on it dont we.
Thank you all.
Bill, The chance to move into my family home has long passed. I did often think about it years ago and I believe my father did also hope for that, but other family did convince me otherwise.
That is when Dave and I bought this place. I had many hopes and plans here, but the parts that came to be I did on my own.
I am looking for an apt complex closer to family. Tired of astronomical taxes and upkeep.
ok sounds good but I have been within the rental community all my life to almost two years ago.....beside now being an owner I am stuck where I am unless I decide I need to get to another city that would give me a bit more warmth in the winter....and is affordable and not flood prone....have that here....except MO can be cold in winters....
now I need a water heater....and a way of removing marks put on my driveway by two molotov cocktails last weekend thrown at our cars...
