Still hanging around here!

Not a lot to report.  Got the boot and it is big - to my knee - heavy and hot!  I'm limping around and my neighbor is calling me Chester.  Hope you are old enough to understand that.  Went to a grief support group yesterday.  It was interesting how I got there.  Saw a nearby church had a sign out that the AARP had people to help you with your taxes.  I didn't know if I need to file or not.  My husband was alive all of last year, having only died this January.  So I took my papers and went.  The IRS lady there said I didn't need to file as my income was so low.  It was the gentleman who had prepared me for her that told me about the Hospice support group.  He said it had helped him, as he'd lost his wife two years ago.  As it turned out there were a lot of people there who had been grieving a lot longer than me and they still need the help.  The people here on DS have been my rock since my husband left.  But everyone says to get out among real people, too - yes, I know everyone is "real" but you know what I mean.  I started going to church for the same reason.  After about three weekends where I didn't hear a human voice from Friday to Monday I decided to go among some.  Not the best reason for going to church, I know, but it does help.
So that's about the end of this report. In two weeks I have my second cataract operation and go see the foot doc, to see if I can get rid of this boot.  So it is one day at a time, one step in front of the other until then.

I\'m happy that you found a support group and a Church. We all need the physical presence of people in our lives! I hope the \"boot\" helps you and that your cataract surgery goes well!

Love & hugs,
Lois
