Still good...but I\'m grieving

Not drinking at all...thank you Dear God, but I am grieving hard today.  We had rain last night from tropical storm Hannah.  My dogs were outside between the storms and looking through the fogged door, I saw one of my dogs wanting to come back in.  In the instant I saw him, I thought for a moment it was somehow my Oscar coming back to me.  Oscar was my soulmate...yes he was a dog...be he had been with me through Stuart's suicide, my drunkeness, my new life here in PA. He was here for me during my father's illness and death and my beloved brother, Guy's sudden death.  He died just a few months after Guy. My Oscar was someone who was always there no matter how alone I was.  He was much more than a dog...he was my true friend and soulmate, and I loved him more than anything I could imagine. Last night my grief kicked me in the gut...Stuart, my dad, my brother, my Oscar, my mom.  And today, I'm crying, as well I should for my losses...my sorrow.  I can't be comforted in this.  It is deep, so deep, so painful, I can't describe it.  But I have survived all this and I am alcohol free today by the grace of God.   I am sober 12 days today and grateful.
