Still around!

Hey friends! Nothing really new to report.  I'm just writing to let people know I'm still here.  I'm not reading the front page much...just the journals when you ladies update them.  I guess I'm just sort of in a holding pattern, so I don't have a lot to contribute.  We will finally start injections on the 7th.  I think, knowing that, the month of October has DRAGGED.
Speaking of "nothing new to report", I feel kind of lame lately talking to people.  I work a job that's sporadic and, besides that, my life has some routine but nothing exciting.  Most people are talking about their kids' new milestones and family outings.  When people say "What's new with you?" to me...I have nothing to contribute.  I'm okay with my life, but from the outside, my life is pretty boring.  I guess that's making me sad.  I hang out with my friends, I take part in my trivia league and do my improv shows, and other fun things here and there.  But none of it is anything new to report, or anything people really care about hearing.  I've noticed people have sort of stopped asking.  I think the expectation would be that we would make an "announcement"...but of course, at this point, I'm not very hopeful that will ever happen. :(
This weekend, we ran into DH's cousin whom we haven't seen in a long time.  He asked me how "motherhood" was treating me.  Apparently he had me confused with DH's brother and sister-in-law.  Of course, I couldn't see my face, but DH says it was a cross between incredulity and as if I sucked a lemon.  Either way, it was a punch in the gut.  I wanted to get out of there really bad (but how do you not be rude to someone who hasn't seen you in a year or more?)  So, I'm still riding the rollercoaster, still trying to figure everything out...still both anticipating and dreading November and what it may or may not bring as we do our first IVF round.  Like I said...nothing new. ;)

I am glad you \"checked in\" with us, but since you are always so supportive of me, I haven\'t noticed that you were gone :) I haven\'t contributed much lately to the main page either. I am super excited about your IVF next month, and hope you have exciting news to report then :)

i agree with lowes so glad you checked in and i really hope your ivf next month goes well... as for the nothing new i know that feeling but you said you do improv when someone asks you should just come up with something so outlandish yet believable and wait to see their reactions, if nothing else it might be quite comical... hugs and keep us posted

I can totally relate to the punch in gut. People who haven\'t been affected by IF don\'t even think about these things. I find myself reacting really stupid to comments like that by saying things like \"i hate kids\". That shuts them up. I hope that things work out for you this time!!

I always feel that way when people ask, \"Whats new\" Or \"What have you been up to\". I hate those questions almost as much as, \"when are you going to have kids\". Nothing is never new because we do not do too much since life has revolved around IF and they dont know that.

I wish you tons of luck next month with IVF. I will send some of my first time IVF baby luck your way!!! And will be keeping you in my thoughts! Good luck hun!

I, also, am glad you checked in. There seems to be quite a bit of first time IVF success around here these days. Hopefully it will be the same for you!!

LMWT\'s post has really given me hope. I have to say, your news is the first that\'s made me truly happy, without a trace of bitterness, since all this began. I feel like your story is my story, and so I can pin some of my own hopes on it. Maybe it also means I\'m healing a bit from the sour grapes that IF has given me. We can only hope!
