Staying Strong Part 1

So today is Day 1 of my own recovery. I went to the mall and i had a philly cheesesteak sandwich and fries. I ate the rest of my brother's fries and mine and drank kind of a lot of soda. In my head, while i was eating, i thought that I was a fatty. So then i thought of going to the bathroom and purging. After i ate, I went to Target and got the Cosmo magazine with Demi Lovato on the cover. I read her interview about her own recovery and struggles. I turned to the page where it had Demi's interview and it mentioned that Demi is going to turn 21 this August. The part that hit me the most was towards the end of the interview where she said that birthdays are just a celebration that you've made it through an ENTIRE year. And there are some people who don't even make it to 21. I took those last two sentences of the interview as a wake up call AND a warning that if I continue my bulimia, I probably won't make it through 19 or 20 (i'm currently 18). Later i went to Costco and i picked up a copy of People magazine mentioning Cory Monteith's dark final days before his death. I read about him battling his demons and how he was still dealing with so much pain inside of him even though he got released from rehab. And i thought to myself that if I don't stop right NOW, i will just be another person who's life ended tragically just like Cory Monteith or another tragic, troubled star.

Hang in there, honey! You are worthy of love and that \'Beauty\' Magazines make girls like you feel ugly.

I am morbidly obese and feel a bit image conscious at times, but I am taking affirmative action.

Are you in OA?
