My mother was visiting recently and during our mother-daughter shopping time I discovered something interesting. Almost all of the stores I made a purchase at asked me if I'd like to get on the subscriber list. That's very wise.

However, just HOW where they did this made a positive change in my own answer. I said NO to the majority of them because they only didn't allow it to be alluring for me. I am talking about, who WANTS more spam? Therefore if I'd like to be on your email list if you merely ask me, the solution will usually be NO.

But one store in particular got me. To begin with, it had been a designer apparel store I loved. Second of all, they did not ask me if I desired to be on their email list. They asked me becoming a 'VIP Client.'

Say what 'VIP' to me and my ears improve. It of course means 'essential person.' And generally speaking it indicates a-level of prestige and benefit. Suddenly I WANTED to be on that mailing list, especially when the salesman told me it included certain benefits, including early notice on a personal shopping service, new arrivals, and private trunk shows.

And do you know what? I'd have even paid to engage in that - to be regarded as a VIP.

Example: A pal of mine recently shared he pays $15,000.00 annually to fit in with the President's Club of a local playhouse, though he and his wife can attend each show there just for $150.00. Why would a faithful attendee need to pay 100 times more? Specific therapy like favorite seating, valet parking, encourages to VIP features, personal cafe for members only, networking with a higher rate of men and women, an such like. Yet another friend of mine gives for membership at a private nightclub in Los Angeles on Sunset Blvd. For most of the exact same reasons (but more so, in my opinion, because it impresses his times ; ).

My advertising advisor Dan Kennedy taught me there is a segment of just ABOUT ANY customer or client group or industry who will happily spend FAR above regular charges for position, convenience, and special treatment.

I call it 'country clubbing' your business. Why be when you can be the classy six-figure membership team down the street the driving range with an hourly charge? You are able to offer both obviously, but look at what will increase your company FASTER, with high quality clients and less orders.

One example of this is my private Platinum Mastermind program, which I introduced in 2006 because of over-whelming demand for our training. This group of 15 significant small companies each pay $15,000.00 a year to own greater usage of me than someone else, and in a small group environment where we meet 3 times a year at magnificent 4- and 5-star hotels and places.

My Platinums are, primarily, VIPs within my world! And because I maintain a little of magic concerning the group, people appear to need 'in' even more. (One-of my people got cornered in the girls room at my last Online Success Blueprint Workshop by several people who required to know how they are able to go into Platinum!)

I share this not to impress you, but to impress upon you that in industry (yes, *yours*) there IS a portion of people who will gladly pay MORE - much more - for a higher level of service or treatment. Remember, you're not trying to please EVERYBODY, just the select few who can afford that degree of service.

So now, have a second or two and consider how YOU can start your own 'country club' to your clients and customers. Whether it is a VIP amount of service or a private client group that meets a few times a year.
