Starting To Remember

Why I left DS originally, and its not for the reasons you may think.

I get too caught up into my own manufactured drama. Just this morning I may have overreacted to a incident in a group. I felt justified at the time but it may be the case I just got too personal.

I used to have this problem before and it has cost me time and time again. Maybe I just can't be on DS.

It is a complex issue. I\'ve seen one group here where the prevailing opinion seems to be that if you don\'t meet their definition of {MEDICAL ISSUE} then they do not want you there, and will tell you to your face that you just don\'t understand, you don\'t suffer enough, blah blah blah. (It is a group for a medical issue, not a mental issue)

I got sucked into their drama once, and it was ten times too much for me!

As for the bipolar group, their group culture is vastly different from the depression group. I suspect that they really have trouble interacting in the real world, and look forward to their DS group as a haven of like minded people. I posted there years ago trying to explain the CL program and said they could ask me questions if they liked.

I really got blasted by them. Friends of mine that are members there tried to explain it, the lesson I learned is that they see the group as their place. Kind of like bars that cater to different personality types. I don\'t know.

Anyway I am sorry that it soured you on the experience.

Gentle hugs

I remember that. I thought it was shocking.

I completely understand what you mean and how you feel that you might just not fit in well with DS. I get it, totally.. I seem to get sucked into too much negativity, when this place should be about helping, not hurting. I hope we can both learn along the way what to stay away from.. It\'s a great place, if you use the site for the right purposes... You know what I mean?
