Starting over again
Well, let me first say, I did not even make it 1 day of binge free eating. I gained 2 lbs. I have been depressed and miserable with the icy, rainy, snowy, cold, dreary weather and total lack of sunshine for the last few weeks. I have been SO down in the dumps. David hasn't been bad. He did have off school a few days. Neither has Paul. Although they are both climbing the walls as well. Even the dog is antsy. We had several days this past week of icy/sleet rain/snow mix which at night, freezes over. We had a lot of power outages around here and the one day lost power here for 3 hrs. Today, it is sunny and about 40 degrees. I took the dog out. It felt so wonderful to feel the sun on my face! I haven't driven all week for the most part due to black ice at night and during the day I am working.
Work wasn't too bad this week and I got a lot done. that was the saving grace of being cooped up. Got David's report card. He is failing school. Mainly because he is not doing his work or if he does it, does not hand it in. Just laziness! Paul has given up. I am even trying to back off. You know what? If David fails, it is his own fault. All his friends will go to high school next year and he won't. I am so tired of fighting, begging, threatening, bribing. Nothing works. If David does not want to do it, he won't. Now, we find out after 8 weeks of dealing with the one counselor from the state, we are getting a new one! I just can't win.
I am sorry I kind of lost touch with everyone the last couple of weeks. Between the depression/wallowing and trying to focus on work I just didn't make the time to come here. I will try to do better this week.
We are having a few friends over for the Super Bowl. should be fun. Have some cleaning and cooking to do. No Zumba today. Will try to get back to going to the Y this week. Went to my brother's house last Sunday for my nephew's 5th birthday party. (This was Rob's house, the brother I have not been speaking with.) I had such a nice time!
Well, gotta run. So far today I had coffee and oatmeal with milk. Staying clear of the chocolate donuts today! Going to clean and also try to get 1 hr of Wii Walk It Out later to get in my 10k steps.

Don\'t beat yourself up over the fact you didn\'t even make it 1 day of not binge eating.....it\'s not easy at the best of times, let alone if your feeling depressed, that\'s the worse time for me when my mood slips down, it\'s so difficult to resist the chocolate, cake, pizza, fast food etc then, and I just crave them even more and it drags my mood further down if I don\'t give in to them, but then feel bad for giving in to them ! just can\'t win can you. I\'ve learnt now that when you have a day like that you just need to write the day off, and start afresh the next day or a few days later if it lasts that long !
Glad your getting back into it, and enjoy your friends coming over for the super bowl.....one of my colleagues at work was pleading with me to put him in a housebase tonight that will be quiet at about 1am our time and that has a freeview box and tv, so that he can watch the super bowl !
Exercise will help to lift the mood as well, by releasing the bodies natural happy pills endorphins, so trying to get back down to the Y will be a good idea as well.
Take care and glad that David is settling down, although he is going to fail - that\'s his problem, you\'ve tried to help, he won\'t listen, so let him fail, do an extra year when his friends and peers will be moving up to high school, maybe the shock will be what he needs to knuckle down.
I am sorry Yvette. Don\'t give up. U will get there, just a lot of things you are dealing with and it\'s tough to stay focused. Spring will be here soon and it will be much easier to get back on track. Just don\'t give up, stay focused and thing Spring!!! Know you will get to the Y, u are always great with your Wii Walk It Out. I did find a Wii Exercise Game at the Library that I will try out this week. Have fun tody watching the game. I\'m watching it due to Jim having a few squares. I\'m home with Jimmy today, Jim is at work....should be home by 7 so hopefully within the hour. Back to work tomorrow. Have a good one and will talk to you soon. GO YVETTE GO!!! Sorry about David, yep, he will decide what he needs to do when his friends are gone to H.S. and he\'s not. Hope he decides he wants to do better so he can get the heck outta 8th grade. Deep breaths!
Yvette, it\'s been a really rough winter. you\'ve given up smoking recently and having a great deal of stress.. Not Excuses just facts. Start today fresh.. do that each day.. if you slip ok. Watch what you do. see if the binges decrease. it may take you the month of February to get totally on track... (could be sooner) don\'t stress just keep going. Each day is new and fresh. See if you can keep yourself on track if you don\'t DO NOT feel bad just continue on to the next meal and try to stay on track. You will get there..
Remember babysteps. You Can Do It.
I agree. This has been a rough winter and it\'s completely understandable that there is stress. Be kind to yourself and do not let things like a binge mean that you can\'t forgive it and move on. Life is about being kind to yourself in situations like this and moving forward toward health and balance. I am so with you on each day being a new day. We\'ll get it yet - we just have to never never stop trying.
Big huge hugs!
