Starting divorce proceedings

I was away from DS for a while cause reading about so much pain and hurt was making me sad.  My H has been deployed for 6 months now and even though things were looking up and heading in the right direction they stalled again and this time it was me the one that got tired of trying, of giving and not getting nothing in return, I got tired of this empty trade.  I see all this happy couples, how the husbands treat their wives and it made me realized that I want so much more, that I deserved so much better.  Talked to my H and he says he cant offer me what I want, that is not in him anymore.  He wanted to stay married for the kids but I can't keep sacrificing my happiness and getting hurt along the way.  I finally reaized that I wanted him in my life but I dont need him in my life.  It is the hardest thing I've ever done but I told my H that I was ready to let him go and move on with my life, to start a new chapter in my life, to have hope that someday I can rebuilt my life.  I am hurt, my heart is broken but not my spirit, I want to live my life, be happy, I dont want to cry anymore, I want peace of mind, I want to free my heart of this heavy chains around it.  Before it was a possibility now it is a reality, going to see the divorce lawyer tomorrow.  Just hoping to keep it strong through this whole ordeal.

I was thinking about you not too long ago and wondering where you\'ve been. I am so sorry, yet hopeful. I agree with you that if your H was only staying married for the kids, you are much better off letting him go. You now have hope for a better future. At least he was man enough to admit that he wasn\'t able to give you what you needed. Hopefully, that will help you stay amicable for the children\'s sake. He\'ll always be their father, but he doesn\'t have to be your H if he isn\'t willing to give you the love you need and deserve. I wish you strength and happiness in this new chapter of your life! Hugs!

Thanks znz!!! So far so good, amicable divorce, not going to lie I do have some resentment but I dont even have time to be upset anymore, I just want to move on - I wont be able to move on as long as I\'m married cause I can\'t think about the future while I\'m still married - I can\'t even think about dating, not that I want to right now anways, until I\'m legally and officially divorce. My H emotionally divorce me a long time ago and I was the one holding on and surviving by scrapes of affection and ocassional loving word. Strengh I have found through my pain, and happiness will come through peace of mind.
