Starting 6th month of ballroom
I have done waltz, tango, foxtrot, swing (2 types) and next week, the Lindy Hop. I never thought I would learn but it's been a blast. My son has received 5th place and 4th place in ballroom competitions so he is still way ahead of me.

You are so lucky to be doing this. I would love to try. But I have no partner. You need a partner around here. Keep up the good work. Fun is what it should be about and you are having that.
This is so cool! When I had my graphic design business, one client was a dance studio and they taught Ballroom, Latin and Swing classes. I always wanted to take lessons, but of course, the X did not. We DID go to one session (he begrudgingly agreed to this) but insisted on stepping all over my feet the entire time.
The owners of the studio were a husband and wife team who had met when taking lessons at another studio 10 years earlier!
I\'m jealous but so happy for you. I too have been interested in dancing for years but have no partner. I thought about recruiting my son, but I doubt he would be as enthused as I am.
Seems to me a while back I came across a website where they matched up dancers. It was people who loved to dance and didn\'t have a partner.
I\'m glad you are enjoying it. Keep up the good work. Enjoy the time with your son.:) Maggie
All of you guys who don\'t have partners should check with your nearest dance studio. My teacher said there are more guys looking for partners than women. Just finished tango this week. I think I\'ll have to sit december out. Too many conflicts.
I want to try ballroom. I took a women only class that practiced some of the samba steps, but without partners. It was a lot of fun. Now I\'m taking hula.
Didn\'t sit out December. Doing the East Coast swing. Having a blast.
I love to dance, and I would love to learn to waltz. I am going to have to start checking into things to do in Memphis, dancing would be wonderful.
We have a dance studio that I found on meetup.com, I was going on Friday nights for a while, they would give a 1 hour dance class from 7 to 8, then from 8 to 10 we could socialize and practice our moves, lol. the cost is only $10, you can\'t beat that for a Friday night outing. I have a part time job cleaning offices now so I can\'t do it any more. Having to work my self to death to have money is the worst part of this whole divorce thing. I realize I\'m not losing much in the husband department.
Haha, so true. My dance studio does the same thing. I\'m not sure I have a partner anymore. His gf who lives in another state was jealous.
