Stalked.

Gees, some people.   Well, my neighbor is pissed off that I moved his stuff.   The battle's begun!  My friend came over last weekend - I watched her dog for her while she was in Colorado.   When she pulled in to pick him up, I helped her take stuff out to her car (crate, dog food, dog, lol).   She noticed a flash and said "OMG, your neighbor just took a photo of me."

Yep, that's right! NOW, he stands at his window every day, takes photos of EVERYBODY that comes into my yard.   I know what he's doing... he's trying to develop proof that I'm running a business out of my house.   What he doesn't realize, is that I have a state license that allows me to run business out of my house.   DOH!

But that's beside the point - see this friend is the psychologist.   And when the psychologist becomes so creeped out that she won't come visit anymore, you know it's creepy.   And then, the next day, there was a flash inside the house - apparently he took photos through my windows while I was doing dishes.   GEES.  And it's not like he's gonna see anything - everything I do in my home is legal and the blinds were open, and anything that would be "private" would require him to climb over the people eating lilac bush and a locked gate.

I spoke with the police - they said there's nothing they can really do other than talk to him and talking to him would just show him it's irritating and that's basically what he wants - to irritate me until I respond.    And they're right, so I told them to never-mind.  But I noticed yesterday that the police are patrolling my neighborhood more often, so I do still feel secure.  And since he trained one of my dogs to be aggressive toward him, well at least he's made me a cheap security alarm, lol.

And the only thing that really pisses me off is that this is starting to isolate me from friends - just like the abusive X did, same behavior - and that IF he actually gets the city to investigate me, defending myself will get expensive - I'll win, but darn it, more MONEY.  And that thought stresses me out more than ANYTHING else he can do because I CAN'T AFFORD IT.

BUT DAMN IF I'M GOING TO STOP LIVING FOR THAT A$$.  So a brave friend just started grinning when I told her about it the other day.   SHE wants to come over this week (no problem).   She's going to wave, make goofy faces, mess up his "proof" good.   Even offered to moon or flash him... but I told her I'm worried it would give the old neighbor across the street a heart attack, lol.   But when you really think about it, it's SAD.   Another alcoholic abuser, with wife and kids, and I can just imagine the stress in that house.... oooo, a car door shut - grab the camera and run to the window.... oooo, the front door squeaked - grab the camera and run to the window.... oooo, she spoke to someone outside - grab the camera and run to the window....

We've been getting rain finally so I'm putting in my sunflower seeds this weekend, gonna get the lilac ready to transplant too.   And in the meantime, restrain my urge to give him the finger.  AND, my cell phone and camera's in my jacket pocket so I can start taking photos of HIM taking photos of me for proof that he's gone nutty.
Wish me luck.... LATER!

If it was me I would plant those sunflower seeds all along your property line. That would stop some of his picture taking. Wouldn\'t that look absolutely beautiful? You could also plant some bamboo if it will grow there. But you have to make sure that doesn\'t get on his property. Planting that gets a little involved.

I now have a bad neighbor too. They were great until he let his daughter move into the barn apt. with her boyfriend who works on a golf course. So far since mid Feb. I\'ve picked up 15 golf falls out of my fields. Nothing I can do about it. I seldom saw them anyway but now I don\'t even bother to give a friendly wave if I meet them on the road. Same thing for the other neighbor. I\'ve talked to her once and offered her the use of my dressage ring. That was four years ago. I haven\'t seen her since but I seem to be who they follow when they want to know how much to charge for the occassional boarder they take in. LOL

If you start losing business you could take him to court and ask for fees returned to you. More than likely he\'s trying to prove you are a nusiance and restrict the use of his property. That\'s just a guess on my part.

My property\'s REALLY small, so restriction isn\'t the issue. Especially since the restriction was on MY property with all his junk. And he got my \"message\" - he\'s left his stuff in his yard since I moved it AND has quit screaming obscenities at my dog. In fact, I only see him when he\'s taking photos. My business isn\'t an issue either - I go to shows. And this year was actually thinking about turning in the license because I don\'t have anything to sell - I\'ve been too busy working on the house. The visiting dogs are for fun (1 or 2 puppy friends at a time for puppy sleepovers, lol) because they make me laugh, help me stay focused that problems in life are just challenges to be faced and learned from and that the rest of the time is for throwing the ball, lol.

And the sunflowers - got 12\' tall mammoths, got 6\' tall autumn mix, got seeds from my unusual batch last year where I had 3\' to 6\' tall ones with multiple heads (to fill in all along that fence line). That will definitely take care of this year. Next year that lilacs should take off (I had cut the front bush down to 2 feet - it regrew to 20 feet in 2 years). Like you said, it should look really cool! Only thing left then would be some kind of tree or pergola - his house towers over my little bungalow and now being next to them is just creepy.

What a creep! I would let the police have a word with him. He should not come on your property taking pictures. You should have your friends dress up strangely and pose right before coming in your house. Clowns, creepy things and have them bring cameras of their own and take his picture.
I\'m sorry you have to go through that.

Couldn\'t prove it was him.... he was gone before I got over to the window. BUT, today I got those sunflowers planted AND I had guests at the house last night and he didn\'t take any pictures AND while I was gardening, he avoided me like I had the plague. No harassment, no comments, nothing but PEACE. NEXT UP... digging holes for the lilac bush - I bought root enhancer today! And a nice 15-20 foot tall crab apple tree caught my eye at the garden center today, lol.
