STABLE, AIN'T THAT A GOOD WORD

We went for scans today and all is well. He was not able to use the contrast because his creatine was too high.  It was a 2.  They won't give it to him if it 1.8 or over.  The good news is the tumors look to be the same size. The doctor is letting him stay on Sutent with a new cycle.  3 weeks on and 2 off. At least the rest of the summer. Then he will go back to the old schedule.   That is my good news..............
My bad news:  My little friend Carey Heavner, who is battling colon cancer is in very bad shape.  Remember she is only 11 years.  The doctors have done all they can do and are letting her go home. Hospice will be helping the family.   This child has fought so hard for so long. From the beginning the family was told how rare it is for a child to have an adult form of cancer. This has upset Steve so badly.  He does not understand why he is left and this sweet child has to suffer and die. I am told she only weights 49 pounds.  Please say an extra prayer for Carey tonight.  Her Mom is asking for prayers for the words to be able to tell her what is happening.  The doctors (here and in Houston, TX) have agreed that nothing more can be done for her.  I ask all of my friends on DS to please lift this child and her family up to God.  My heart breaks for her, she is the same age as my grandaughter.   God help us all!          Wanda
