So far so good. I downloaded my pedometer yesterday. I did over 15,000 steps up at Penn State the other day! The good news: 2 years ago, walking around that campus I was tired and sore. I felt nothing but energized and exhilarated on this past Saturday! Did a 36 minute walk with the dog last night. Will go for a walk later. Will try to get to the Y Tues, Wed, Thurs and Friday of this week. That is my goal. Time to get serious again. I think I am beginning to figure out Fitday.com. Not as bad as I initially thought. (Thank you JM!) Paul says the treatment for David is 3-6 weeks at the local hospital and is outpatient. He gets a bus to/from. He also gets schooling a few hours but also intense group and one on one therapy. We also have to go, as parents, twice a week for sessions. We also filled out 2 letters to the school, 1 requesting an IEP and the other requesting a 504 plan. Hopefully, something will work out there. Trying all day to think like a hero. With all of the calls, and work and stuff, I feel good all things considered. Called a few irate people and apologized with a good heart and believe it or not, they were understanding and accepting. Will have to work a little harder this week and focus and some OT. Trying to pick my battles. But I am still thinking positive after a rough day. Had a couple of great conversations with my boss. A couple of crises that came up and Phew! Still here! Still smiling. Kona is doing better, Thank God! Again, counting my blessings! Eating is good today as well. Coffee, high fiber oatmeal, a lean cuisine for lunch, water. Will be eating some leftovers later. I was SO hungry today though. Being busy has at least kept me out of the kitchen. Now on to the unbelieveable news: My wonderful and dear friend called me (after 2 years.) She was my best friend. I have missed her terribly and have prayed for her often. I knew she was going threw some rough times. I felt so bad that she did not come to me and I felt hurt and blown off. So THANK GOD! She finally called me and we had a good cry on the phone. I guess good friends are that way. Doesn't matter how long it has been. But she did give me some very sad news- her mother committed suicide a couple of months ago, so on top of everything else she had been through, I cannot even imagine going throgh that. She had lost touch with her mom (she has a long history of depression.) So she feels awful. Please pray for my friend. I am so glad she finally reached out to me. My heart is broken over what she is going through and hopefully I can help her in some way.

You are such an incredible friend! I really appreciate your friendship and it really means a lot what you said. People like you are why I stay on DS too, you believe in me, we believe in each other and do our best to keep trying and never give up. So glad your game was awesome and you had a wonderful time even the boys weren\'t in their best moods. Hope everything works out for David and Paul turns around once things are in place and being worked on. Your so inspiring and being positive is the best way to get thru things even on the worse days, that\'s usually what I do is stay positive but sometimes it can be very hard. I will go find that book and see what I can find that works with me. Thank you!!! So sorry about your friend and her mother, how sad. Glad your friend made a call to you, she cares but I\'m sure she didn\'t want to bother you with any of her life. My sister right now is in bad shape and I know she\'s not calling me bacause she is embarressed but I know that when things get better she will call me too (drugs/alcohol). All we can do is wait and time will tell. Sometimes they need their space but personally I think it\'s best to always have that close friend nearby. I could really use one but my closest friend from h.s. it\'s weird I never tell her anything personal, not sure why. We had a 4 yr gap when she went to college and I think we just changed and me having a child and her not and her still in that party stage where I have to be responsible and be a mom and can\'t leave anytime I want. My sister is my best friend and she is the only one I could ever talk to and sad that she is not here right now but she has her own issues and I know it will be in time that we will reconnect again. Thank you so much for being a wonderful person and always caring. You are doing great. I was thinking of not getting on the treadmill cuz I am super tired but you just gave me the motivation to JUST DO IT!!! Today is day 2 and tomorrow 3 so I need to get the exercise in at least 3x a week, trying but don\'t want to overdo it and get burned out immediately. Way to go for staying so strong during all the work stresses and doing your best, here is to another good day!!! Happy to hear Kona is feeling better, dogs have lots of stresses too, hope things get better for all of you!!! Big Hugs xxxxx Kathy
Oh wow. Your journals are always full of amazing news and you are STILL SMILING!! You are incredible. You walk tall through adversity and keep going - such a great role model for the rest of us. Keep going with that great attitude of yours and keep remembering the big picture like you do. You are an amazing amazing person.
I am praying for great results with the res. program for David! Glad Kona is feeling better and you both are walking....you both need the private time for some peace. I loved hearing how much better more energy you have since last year! LOVE IT! You are a HERO!
