St. Patrick's Day 2013

My daughter is fixing corned beef and cabbage. It sure smells good. Its windy outside, glad I am in here. An old musical is on. My grandson is being loud and obnoxious. I think he is bored. He is ODD and has to get his mother's goat or it isn't a good day for him. That should be funny under normal circumstances but not in his. I feel like I never really get to be a grandmother much because he is so hard to be around. That is sad coming from a grandmother. Well, we will see what the rest of the week has to offer. Need to et ahold of the meds doctor's office and make sure we can come in on Tuesday for a referral to a psychiatrist so we can get a update diagnosis on him. Hope it doesn't take too long. School about ready to ---- well, I don't know what. The teacher can't get him to work. I feel so sorry for her, having to put up with him.

Oh, and if people actually read this, I have severe depression so I feel 'bad' most of the time. Just so you know.

Hi please try and stay strong, my nephew has adhd/ aspergers I don\'t live with him ... but can only imagine how hard it must be for you. Not what u need with your depression.do you have any headphones that u can put on and play a relaxing cd? It sounds like he is on the right road with the doctor, unfortunitly it all takes time my nephew got taken out of pre school and his 1st school. He would never sit still in story time and cause havoc. He is on meds now and maintains a happy school Life. He has other friends at school with problems. And sees a specialist. I hope things improve for you. Xxx

It is tough. We are trying to get a up dated diagnosis now. He\'s not doing well in school. Is smart but his behavior causes problems. I have lots of music on playlist.com. Love it! And I have cable stations with music. I hope things improve for my grandson. Glad your nephew is doing better. Thank goodness for meds, huh?

Corned beef and cabbage sounds good. I hope you enjoyed your dinner. It\'s so nice you are there for support to your daughter and grandson. Sorry he is having such difficulties and hope you get help for him. I have a nephew that sounds a lot like your grandson and he was in and out of trouble for several years, then on drugs, probation, etc. Finally at age 27 he has settled down, holds a good job and realizes how bad his behavior was. He too was smart but made terrible decisions. The trouble there was his mother was always taking up or making excuses for him. My brother tried discipline and consequences but she always stepped in. To this day she still does too much for my nephew instead of letting him be responsible. First thing for you and your daughter is to get a good diagnosis for your grandson. If there is a medical reason for the actions hopefully medication and therapy will help you get some peace. In the meanwhile turn up the music and pray for a good day! Hugs xxxx

Well glad to hear your nephew has grown out of his behaviors and settled down. My GS\'s mom is trying to deal with him as best she can. At times she gives in to him rather than have his exploid on her. He has already beaten her with a plastic rod because she turned the tv off. He is already on meds but a re-evaluation is what we would like. He definitely has ODD, but the rest of his diagnosis is just \' mood disorder\'. So we need to know what else is going on. And the school is pushing for a re-evaluation because he is not doing his work and really actin out. He is already in a special class for kids like him and when this isn\'t working--what then? ANd he has a PSR and therapist we are all three seeing. Don\'t know what else we can do but medicate him in Zombieland. Ugh! Hope not!
