Spring
Well Spring has Sprung in Spring TX lol. Sorry about the pun. I couldn't resist. The weather has been warm High 70's low 80's. I have been out back trying to clear up the flower beds. They are so over grown with weeds, it looks like an abandoned house. It feels good to dig in the dirt. Very therepudic. Next week I will go the Home Depot and get some flowers. The fence is falling down also. I'll get that done in a couple of weeks. Still have not heard from the National Patient Advocate Foundation. Don't know why it is so hard to try and help people. So what I did was sign up with the American Cancer Society as a volunteer, to help people in my area with such things, I think as taking them to dr appt and chemo treatments and the like. Maybe take them a meal. I am not really sure what the needs are. I feel so compelled to do something. I am feeling pretty good. Some days are better than others. Just talking about my energy level. But it has only been three months since my last chemo. I go on the 9th to LBJ to see the gyn onc. I am not sure if any testing will be done that day, or I just meet with the gyn onc. I have decided to go to NJ this summer to visit my relatives up there. I will be looking forward to that. It has been a couple of years since I have been. I keep in touch with everyone by phone or email, but nothing like being there. I miss the Jersrey shore. My neice has a gorgeous boat and I am looking forward to a nice ride. There have been a couple of babies born since I was there last. A great-neice and a great-nephew. Have a good April Fools Day everyone. Love to you all. Anita

Happy April Fools Day! I tried in the morning to get Nick by telling him there was no school because of a water main break, but he didn\'t take the bait, but when he was taking a bath he asked if there was anything under his arm and I said 5 hairs and he believed me. It is fun when they are little to have the holidays. It will be nice for you to visit and see the new babies in Jersey. And I can\'t wait until it is nice enough to garden here in Pennsylvania.
I know what you mean about getting out in the yard and getting your hands dirty. Last year I was going through my chemo during gardening season and I just couldn\'t do it. I would just sit on my swing in the back and cry but this year I can jump right in. Hey it will take a while for the energy level to get back to where it was. It\'s been 8 months since my last chemo and I\'m at about 85%.
You just enjoy yourself and let others do for you. After all....We do deserve it don\'t we!!!
Michelle
HAPPY SPRING!
Thanks Michelle. I was begining to worry about my energy. I hope it warms up real soon where you are so you can \"did in the dirt\" too.
I always have huge ambitions for my garden and haven\'t had it as I would like for a very long time... this year I am going to change tack and my ambition is to get lots of help with the garden... so lets see how that works...
It is so lovely t have the warm weather though, isn\'t it.. ? .. a great energy boost too.. It took me forever to fully recover form my first brush with chemo and cancer.. and I wasn\'t even sure if I would... You should just feel better and better now.. ~so take good care still.. a visit with people you love and miss will be another benefit to how you feel..
Loving hugs to you xxxxxx
Your plans to go to NJ this summer sound great - a little sun by the Jersey Shore :-) I\'m so excited for spring and to get my hands dirty, and like you, can\'t wait to go to Home Depot to buy some flowers!
Signing up as a volunteer with the local American Cancer Society sounds like an excellent way to start - I\'ve also thought about doing thatonce I\'m done with treatment. After all my driving to and from treatment, I\'ve wondered what cancer patients DO, who live in more remote areas or have no transportation to get to treatment?? I\'m sure your time and talents will be appreciated by the ACS.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sunshine! Hugs xxxxx LuEllen
