Spinal Fusions are "Perfect Storms"
Well - at least I think it's educational to know that when you get a spinal fusion - particularly in the L5-S1 region (at least according to my physiotherapist) - it can cause the weakening of muscles in the legs that directly connect with the feet. Which I suppose makes fusions the "perfect storm" to create havoc througout the entire body - disaster is working it's way up my spine and it has also made it way right down to my feet.
So I'm undergoing muscle re-hab in my legs/feet - accompanied by ETPS (Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation) and electrodes put on my feet. So far - strengthening exercises hurt - feels like things are being stirred up. This will hopefully eliminate the plantar fasciitis - or at least help support my feet more in order to give the fascia of the foot a well-deserved break.
