Special of the Day
Friday, March 27, 2009 - 11:20 AM FREE SNOW FOR SALE! The snow sure hit us with a heavy wallop yesterday. We have about 15 inches of snow to enjoy until it is either plowed away or melts by sunlight and warm temperatures. The blizzard that was expected, missed us as it headed further southward instead. That was only the second snowfall we had this year. Another storm is supposed to hit us on Monday, and that will be followed by another one on Thursday. That gives us all something look forward to. I can think of happier things than that. One of my CNAs managed to reach me last night, and another one was able to get through this morning. It is hard for everyone to get around, but one CNA lives about three minutes away from me, so I knew that she would be here. My brother called earlier this morning to see how I was doing in the blizzard. I said that I was just fine and was glad that the blizzard did not show up here as predicted. I was somewhat surprised to hear from him at all, but in the back of my mind, I think he is already starting to butter me up for our next counseling session. I just looked outside, and the maintenance men have tried shoveling off the sidewalks. There is a path down two of them, but I don't think either one is wide enough to permit my wheelchair to go past. I would hate to be stuck here until summer. There is no place I really have to be until next Tuesday. That will at least give me a few days to try and figure out how to get out of here in one piece.
