Special Days

As we all know, special days bring back memories - sweet memories and painful memories.  I find it hard to focus on the sweet.  I am always reminded that we are no longer making memories with Lisa.
Most people I know are not comfortable talking about Lisa so it makes it even harder - I think they are afraid of making me cry.  They just feel uncomfortable so I put on my company smile and go home and rant.
It should be an emotional weekend for us.  Lisa's bridesmaid has invited us to a park to celebrate Mother's Day with her family.  We are hoping to have balloons to honor Manon's brother who was murdered, and Lisa.  We will also talk about her brother and Lisa and Harvey's wedding as it was on the 9th, and laugh and cry.  I will come home and light candles - and cry.
I was given the book "Chicken Soup for the Grieving Soul".  At the beginning of a chapter, there is a quote by Fran Morgan:
"The most precious moments in friendship were not when I laughed with a friend, though those times are so good, but when I cried with a friend and she reached out and listened and understood."
I have experienced so many extra special moments on FMO with Moms who listen and understand.
I wish each of you a peaceful weekend.
Love and hugs,
Marlene - Lisa's mum
