Spanish
It's slow going now. I'm up to speaking in past tense and I keep getting it mixed up with present tense. I'm getting better, though. I had a small stop because of this whole vertigo thing, but today I got my yoga equipment and did my yoga program in Spanish. I was surprised as to how much I've learned. I could understand a lot of the program.
I received an email in Spanish the other day and read the entire thing without really considering it wasn't in English.
I spoke French at work with my coworker. He speaks 5 languages. So I asked him how difficult would it be for me to go back to learning French after I'm done with Spanish. He told me not to do it. I will get them mixed up. I believe him because I'm already doing that. I had 5 years of French years ago and occasionally remember it, switching into French instead of Spanish in conversation.
I guess it's goodbye to French. Beautiful language, but i'll have to find one that is not as related to Spanish for my next language. Maybe Mandarin or German.
For those widows and widowers out there: I can't tell you what a diversion learning a langauge has been. I say learn something new if you're going through this. It gives you a new social life and something to work towards. It takes you away from the constant grief. I'm writing too, getting reaquanted with my fan base. I may take knitting after this or cake decorating. I'm already planning on taking a Chocolate candy making class.
