SOUP
Soup. Soup. Soup. Why can't I make a small pot of soup? I start off right. Bring out mom's old roasting pot. She cooked every roast we ever had in it. But, by the time I put the canned tomatoes, tomatoe sauce, celery, onion, bell pepper, and ground meat in it, there's no room for the vegetables! Soooo, I bring out a bigger pot and it fills all the way to 3/4 full. Maybe, it's because I learned to make soup in a restaurant,,,,5 gallons at a time. But I try to keep it small. Never works. We had a cool spell come through this passed week and that gave me the idea for the soup. Another, colder, front is coming through this week and the soup should come in handy. I can go through a bunch of cold fronts. There's 2 dozen servings bagged in the freezer. Plus 3 bags for this week. Buuut, I did find a kicker recipe for cornbread. I don't make it very often so I buy the little packet. It had a recipe for mexcican style. As you know, I never leave a recipe alone, so if you want some great cornbread, here's what you do. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of chili powder, a teaspoon of cumin, and a little onion powder. it's a whole new flavor!Saw something cute Saturday. There's been a little dog hanging around a house across the street from mine. A couple of little girls live there. When I took Foxy out, I noticed the dog wasn't there. I was pretty sure the family didn't own the dog. She hanged around my house about a year ago. Well, I saw the little girls pushing a baby buggy around the yard. Guess who was in the buggy. The little dog! Oh, the memories! That little rascal was having the time of her life!
