Sounds of the Singing Birds...
As I sit hear with the sounds abounding around me of the birds singing to the tops of their lungs....our farewell songs and our hope you come back soon songs....more and more are joining in....and as what was the "little" duckies that were here last year have now grown into ducks almost of their own...Mommy duck pretty much still stays with them, but now as close as she did last year and daddy, well, daddy went to Heaven with our children...We know each one of them are said that "Daddy" had to leave "way" too soon...but as we all know this happens to us in our lives....
When we first arrived we are parked right across the lake from where we were last year and the little duckies wasted no time waddling their little selves over to our spot to welcome us...after all we are now part of their family....
Mommy duck, she is still protective of the little duckies as I am sure that since it is only her now to make sure that no harm comes to their babies, she watches their ever move, yet she gives them some freedom to wander as long as they stay close together..being protector's of each giving her a little time to morn her loss and to get her work done for another day comes tomorrow...
How many "little duckies" are there...Four...now whether they are boys or girls I do not know...but it reminds me of my children...By the time I was 25, I had four little boys...and as the "little duckies" mom has told each of her babies...take care of each other as sometimes you mom might have her eye turned and as long as each of you watch out for each other...there will be protection ...and the thing I want you to remember is that, God loves each of you and wants each of to know that you were His before you were mine...and that He wants you to watch out for each other....
As when my four boys were young even today, they will say to me "I know mom," look both ways before crossing the street"..And we know mom, we are to always love each other no matter what...no matter who makes the most money, or is the most popular or whatever may come your way...you always remember love each other as mom has always loved you....
I am sure the mommy duckie's were told the same thing...when you waddle off the into the grass remember that there is always three of you still coming so don't forget to watch and wait...
One thing I want to tell you too...one day something may happen that was and is beyond your control....and one of you may become injured....always remember no matter what...you are loved...by your daddy who had to leave a bit early and that your brother or sister they may become sick or they their may be something that was going a bit fast and did not see one of you...but always remember let them know how much you loved them...let them know your always there for them....let them know that when the day comes one day all of us will be together again....One Day...
So sweet birds singing outside my windows tonight...singing my songs of goodbye...singing my songs that you will see me again soon...
Another day of reflection, another day of the little duckies rushing to see us another time before we leave....and the birds...totally unseen to the eye is singing in harmony as each on gathers to sing their sign of "see you later"...We never say good-bye...no we say in our songs in our hearts in our mind...as each bird sings in perfect harmony ...see you next time you fly down our way....We enjoyed your visit...we know you enjoyed our song of love to you tonight as you prepare to leave us in the bright morning hours...
Until then....hear our songs of love to you and know we were happy to see you again...and as the duckies waddle their way back to the lake...they stop...they look back as to say...see you again....as they go their way to greet their next camper coming in to spend some time with them and give them bits of food and take their picture...as we watch them waddle themselves back over to their mom to say..."See we told you they would return"...and huddle in such love as mommy duckie sprays her wings to welcome her babies home safe for the night...
Good night sweet duckies...keep up your good work...keep safe until we see you again...As you grow we will grow together in love...
and to the singing of the sweetness of the sounds of a thousand birds as they sing us songs of love and let us know they will be here next year waiting...watching...preparing for the choir to sing even more brightly as they always have each year....
Until them...sweet dreams...

Beautiful reflection. We see our families and our selves in so many things. Bless you Sandi. Terry
I often think of myself more as a Mother Bear than a Mama Duck because I can be ferocious in defending my cubs! But I also love to watch and contemplate Mama Ducks as they patiently teach their babies to peck the ground for food and to be careful of approaching dogs/people/vehicles.
When we lived in Vegas I used to walk the dogs around a small man made lake in a nearby park and reveled in watching the water fowl of many varieties through the seasons each year. Peace and caution to the little ducklings and goslings...
Sending love and big protective hugs ~ Debbie
