Sort of cold but VERY TYPICAL
Came home Friday and tried to use the stove. Oh, can't ... the gas is shut off. Irritation mounted after talking with the gas company, who apparently waited til just before 5 to shut it off and have assured me they won't turn it on before Monday. So no bathing, no laundry and no cooking on the stove. No hot water to wash dishes. The temp in the house has settled at about 54. I found a small electric heater finally, which has pushed it to 57. I have a small pot that will heat water and will use that to clean some dishes. May be able to heat enough to wash some clothing, but drying will have to wait til tomorrow.
I just had to put down a deposit for the electric and spring a few hundreds for our daughters to get into classes, as well as a battery for a car. I know he has a legal obligation for their support. Both just started classes and neither is "of age" for those purposes. I'm also well aware that the spirit of what he has done is a direct violation of the protective order, whether it meets any legal criterion or not. I'm appalled ... he has YET to pay a dime of what he owes me ... our children lost their state school aid because of his attempts to circumvent paying ... plus his filing his taxes separately cost a few thousands in lost income. He is screwed up!!
I will have to go back to Court, because he has also not provided anything toward previous school costs etc. And there is no way I can meet both bills without additional income. I've been limping by with my car, but there is something wrong when he has an order to pay that goes back more than a year and a half, and not a dime toward it ... yet he managed to buy a car and take a trip to Las Vegas. Plus cut off $200/month worth of services during the pendency of the divorce (which my attorney said nothing about, nor did she file a contempt cite. So much for trusting her.) Just more to do ... always, more to do.

I know it is very hard, dealing with those companies; they do not care once they do not have their money. I remember when I got home night time and they have cut my electricity for being only late one month. And when I called them, they told me that they will not have it back if I do not stay home waiting for them all day because they did not know what time they will get here. I argued with them, that I need to make money to pay their electricity and they are asking me to not work! Sorry, it must be hard. I wonder if there is on office there to provide extra help at least for one month. I know here we have HEAP for emergency heating and electricity. Also, DSS sometimes helps people to pay for heating bills, so that people can get back to their feet. The problem is that it is the weekend and you have to wait until Monday to reach someone. Keep yourself warm buy wearing several layers and socks, also fleece blanket can help. Good luck my dear!! Hugs!
I\'m so sorry he\'s putting you through this. Makes me so mad! Wish we lived closer. You could stay with me. I pray the courts start doing what is right and make him pay. The injustice of our judicial system boggles my mind. Stay strong, girl. Sending hugs and prayers!
Yes, frustration mounts when they can go on with their life, and yours is on hold and living without the things you need. I know all too well how that goes, and just knowing that mine was on with his life, living a great lifestyle just cut right through me. Courts can take forever, and attorneys really most of them just in it for their money and not realizing how hard it is for their client. My hats off to you and I also realize that nothing I say will help, other than you will be in my thoughts and knowing I am still going through stuff myself. We need to lean on our friends in these times. I truly do care about you.

We made it through and it has been a Godsend, waking up and seeing all your comments. And right, on the attorneys ... the past weekend, I have been thinking, \"I didn\'t get married in a Court,\" and I should NOT (nor should anyone) need to speak proper \"legalese\" or HAVE to hire a lawyer to keep from being robbed, etc \"civilly\". Starting to see it as BS, excuse the term, but that is ALL it is ... think if the medical industry was like that! Bogus ...
