Sooooo long
Hi all, I can't believe it has been so very long since my last journal entry. Guess life just caught up with me and I lost track of the days. Well, hubby is doing better. The recuperation process is still slow, but we can see little changes. In my absence from DS, he has also had to undergo additional surgery on his eye. Seems when he was hallucination in the hospital and they had to put him to the floor to calm him down, they apparently didn't notice that he had hit his head. It knocked his implant from his cataract surgery loose. He had been complaining about loss of vision since his surgery. Soooo, finally we saw the eye doctor who noticed the lose implant. She didn't realize how lose it was and said that they would need to keep a close eye on it. Having said that, they scheduled him for a return visit in 3 months. Unfortunately, the dilation of his eyes for the examination gave the implant a place to move. The next day he had a "cat's eye" in appearance. So we ran to the ER and were blessed by the fact that this doctor had already been called in to see a different patient. She took one look and said - Surgery on Monday! So, since Feb, hubby has been through 2 surgeries. No wonder it is taking him so long to recuperate!!!As for our daughter - it has been up and down. She was here, then there was an emergency with her DIL in Ft. Campbell, so she ran out there to assist with the older girls (ages 2 & 3) and the boy age 10. She stayed there for 3 weeks and was harassed constantly by her husband via the cell phone & constant texting and calls. When she left Ft. Campbell, she drove back to PA to oversee the packing and removing of her other belongings. Fortunately, he had no awareness of any of this until after she left to come back here.Wouldn't ya know that, although her DIL had been scheduled for c=section on 9/15, she went into labor on the 7th. So, another hurry-up trip back to Ft. Campbell to help out again. Our great-granddaughter and her mommy are well. The baby weighed in at 8 lbs 5 oz. Now, back at home, our daughter is settling into attempting to locate a job. There were tests to take and other matters to attend so that her teaching certificate can be transferred. Next comes the driver's license and a couple other things. We are prayng that she has a job by the middle of October since we are rapidly running out of money. Her divorce is about to be filed in PA. The only thing left to do is to mail the lawyer an additional $500 for a filing fee. Then she will be a free woman - that is unless he decides to continue the harassment. As for me, I have been busy on Facebook where I have located several members of my Dad's family. Mom never allowed us to know them. Of course, the direct line has long since passed. But those who are still alive are found to be so warm and welcoming. Like me, we all knew there were others "out there", but until I begain my search none of us knew where. I now have approximately 10-15 cousins of different generation who I am getting to know. As frustrating as the Internet can be, it is also a blessing! My love to all of my DS friends. Hope to hear from you soon.
