Son detained

Hello really worried about my 40yr old Son who is waiting for presentencing as he is loosing it and is even saying is giving up! I know he can work on my emotions but all he seems to worry about is his girlfriend who has dumped him while in prison. He says he is suffering with chest pains and headaches. Whether this is true or just a way for him to hire a lawyer which I can't afford as right now he has a legal aid lawyer who seems to have messed up his bail hearing...
