Sometimes We Need To Fall Apart

Copied from a post by Rea on lovingarms     Sometimes We need To Fall Apart   We don’t always have to be strong. Sometimes our strength Is expressed in being vulnerable. Sometimes we need to fall apart to Re-group and stay on track.   We all have days when we cannot push Any harder, cannot hold back self-doubt, Cannot stop focusing on fear, Cannot be strong.   There are days when we cannot focus On being responsible. Sometimes we cry in front of people. We expose our tiredness, irritability or anger. Those days are okay.   Part of taking care of ourselves means We have to give ourselves permission To “fall apart” when we need to. We do not need to be perpetual towers of Strength. We ARE strong. We have proven that. Our strength will continue if we allow us The courage to feel scared, weak And vulnerable when we need To experience those feelings.   Today, Lord help me to know that it is okay To allow myself to be human. Help me not to feel guilty or punish myself When I need to fall apart. (Author Unknown)     Sometimes we need to fall apart... we need to fall apart and not get upset with ourselves... that is so true... I do think we all can be too rough on ourselves... Its so darn sad...  I seem to be able to tell yall its ok and expected that you will at times relive the pain like it was yesterday... but when it happens to me I do think why... I thought I'd dealt with... etc etc etc...   I'm going to try to keep this poem in mind for the future and be kinder to myself... Richard and I were watching some videos with clips from some Johnny Carson shows.... The last two videos are of Johnny Carson's last two shows before he left the Tonight Show... He mentions his son Rick Carson and I wondered what had happened as I did not remember... In my search for info I came across this tribute that Johnny Carson had put together for his sone and wanted to share it...  You know Johnny desperately did not want to come across as "mawkish" as he called it... but I don't see it as "mawkish"   Actually even the pain in his eyes and voice although they break my heart... it is a testament to the beauty and wonder of love... and I'm glad he felt that intense love... I am glad for all of us... There is no part of our lives that is more wonderful than the love we give and receive....  This is the web address for Johnny Carson's tribute to his son Rick Carson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNvODxYIrM8

I read somewhere that most comedians are very serious, staid people in their personal lives. I know Johnny Carson was very quiet and reserved..not at all like the person on TV. This is a wonderful tribute and it does capture the essence of love. Thanks Elissa. Kathy

I don\'t think there is an end to the grief of losing a child, no point where one says \"okay, I\'m done with all of the sadness and missing...\". Good words to remember, that it is okay to fall apart and to be kind to ourselves. Love you.
