Sometimes things do work out

My wife has a laptop and a few of the keys aren't working.  However she won't let me take it to a local shop to get it repaired. (It is out of warranty) She is blindly loyal to the manufacturer (I won't mention the brand but if you think about it ...it might ring a Del, oops...er..I mean Bell.) Their products aren't bad but it is very difficult to get ink, parts, service or anything without directly dealing with them. So she has continued to work on her computer, steadfastly avoiding those keys or using my laptop when she can't. She always says that she will get around to calling Tech support but it's been a couple of months now. She won't even let me buy a cheap USB keypad to help her out. This situation has been bothering me...not so much for her use of my laptop...but because she constantly complains about how slow my laptop is when she uses it. Hey, I bought a bargain basement laptop with a slow processor . She knows that....and my keyboard works. Hmmph!Sooo, today when she went to the hair dresser I stealthily took her laptop to the electronics repair facility. When I got there, the tech said it would cost $60 just to look at it. And I would have to leave it there. No way could I do that. I'm not about to face the wrath of Julie when she gets home. But then I noticed that they had some used USB keyboards for sale for just $3. I took one out of the bin and plugged it into her USB port and it worked great. When I took it to counter the tech just gave it to me. So I'm satisfied. From my end, I have done all that I can.(I would have called tech support for her by now.... but I can't talk that much on the phone anymore.... Really..It's no big deal...I can do most other things. It's just that prolonged conversations make me SOB.  So I do what I can elsewhere.) Now she doesn't have to use Tom's slowwww laptop any more. Slow Tom can use his slow computer...and all is right in my world.I hope you are doing great.Be well,Tom

Tom! You are SO BAD. Hahaha.....sorry I missed this when I you first wrote it. Your SOB kicks in in a very calculated way. Kinda like the husbands who are hard of hearing. Selective hearing they call it. You have selective airways. :-) Does that mean you will be back here full strength on Daily Strength?!! Hoping so!
