Sometimes I just want to run away. Part 1

I have mentioned the events that have taken place in my wife's family that have put a knot in my recovery from depression. I found out in July of last year that my stepson was a pedofile. When I found out I was outraged. I actually posted here about it. I have also posted the lies that he has said about me which was fuel for certain members of my wife's family to take my child away from me and my wife. I also posted about how I think her losing custody of her son was another reason for my wife to not care about being on this earth any longer. Her family has taken everything from me. I blame them for my wife losing the fight and giving up taking a good reason to fight for her life away from us.
I just wanted to inform you on some of the past. I have close ties with the rest of my wife's family. I have many nieces and nephews that I love dearly. I have aunts and uncles that love me as much as I love them and they know how Holly's immediate family have hurt me taking my son away from me and blaming me for how my stepson turned out.
A couple of facts about my stepson and how he was raised. My stepson lived with me and my wife during the Summers and on weekends. The only reason for that is because her parents only lived 20 minutes away and they have a much better school system there where they live.  Occasionally he would stay the night at his dads one night during the weekend.  His dad isn't all there but he loved his son and I know to this day that his father would never put him in harms way and I thought that it was okay for him to spend time with his father but everyone else thought that he was not fit to care for his son even if it is one day out of the week.                                                                                                                            When he stayed with his grand parents he had a 8pm. curfew and chores he had to do. He was never allowed to have friends over. When he stayed with us he had a 10pm. curfew but we were very lenient on that. he usually went to bed around midnight, he didn't have any chores except to keep his room clean which was only enforced when it was a complete mess, and he was allowed to have friends over but that only happened once. He didn't have many friends and that did concern me but what could i do but try to be a friend. When he stayed with his father he didn't have any rules and they would stay up all night playing video games and eating junk food. His father was a big kid and I didn't see any harm in them doing that 1 night a week, after all I played video games as well so I couldn't really judge. the boy I think always had a eating disorder and I wanted to restrict the amount of food he ate because hey outweighed me when he turned 10 years of age. I am 6 foot 210 lbs. I am not little.
Problems didn't really start to occur until he turned 12 years old. It started with him lying about things his father did. Stupid things like not feeding him. His grand parents and mother would get so angry with the boys father because they didn't ask what really happened. when actually he had 3 full meals but his father didn't buy him a desert he wanted at the store. I am the only 1 that would dig deeper to find the lies that he was telling. I inform everyone but they would shrug it off. I thought that he needed discipline when he was caught in a lie but nothing would happen.  When I say discipline I mean grounding or something taken away from him for a period of time.  The boy always had a eating disorder. He is very big and I always thought it should be addressed but I would never get support from anyone. I knew he needed help but no one would listen.
When he stayed with us all I wanted was for him to show me a little respect and I would show the same. 1 thing that bothered me a little was he would come into my bedroom while I was playing a game or on the computer and he would just stand there not saying anything. I would have my door shut in my underwear playing my game or on my computer and I felt comfortable not knowing that he was behind me just starring at me. The door was shut and he knew that he wasn't allowed in my room when the door was shut.  He had all the games I did but he would sneak in my room and look at me and I would freak out when he did that. I was working 40 to 50 hours a week and the only time i could enjoy myself in my own room I have some kid looking at me. So yes I would get angry and tell him to leave. I played games with him but sometimes I needed me time.
When he did something at our house and was disciplined the punishment wasn't carried out at his grand parents but when he was punished there we would abide by what was said because we knew he did wrong. He started to lie about why he was punished here and they believed him no matter what me or Holly said. His grand mother even told him that he didn't have to listen to me. That's when he got the idea that he wouldn't listen to me when I told him to clean his room. I took the power chords to his consoles and told him that he couldn't have them back until his room was cleaned. He was bigger than me and he demanded that I give him back the chords. He hit me and I tackled him and told him that he is not to hit me and he was going to clean his room. He did and he got the chords back.
Holly told them what had happened, I didn't hit him or whip him but I did show him that I could out power him. He bruised my face. I didn't put a mark on him. But when they herd his side of the story I was the abusive step father. Everything that my wife told them was erased with the lies he made up. They never considered that maybe he was lying even though he has lied countless times before.

Okay,
1. Document things (as it appears you are doing:)
2. Realize, this is NOT your fault man!
3. Try and steer him in the right direction, I know you have done this, but don\'t give up! Kids are hard headed!
4. Definitely have credible witnesses around when he spends time with you!

He will not be spending any time with me. I only worry about my son and if my stepson will be allowed around him. I have made it clear that I want noyhing to do with my stepson

I do not blame you in the least! Now, I do not know his age, but I hope and pray the criminal justice system/youth offenders deals with him accordingly.
