Sometimes I am Such an Idiot!
This musical revival I am going through is a powerful force, I am writing daily and getting some great positive motivation from it. I decided to treat myself to a new guitar, (I know, I have several already, but not like this!) and ordered it from a web site. This past Sunday the Pastor at church asked if I would play in the just now being formed praise and worship band, and of course I accepted, and am honored to be allowed to play in His house. Then on Monday, she came, the new guitar. This is the best sounding guitar ever, big booming voice, the bass strings sound like a piano, just awesome tone! Now I still don't have a great place to live, I mean I've moved out of the house, and am renting a bedroom in a couple's house. Its an OK room, but this is not a home, just temporary until the divorce is final, and we sell the house, split the proceeds etc. So I'm playing this new guitar in my room, and she sounds, well, distorted. The high strings, the G, B, and E (no smart alec remarks about my G String please) sound almost like they have a natural vibrato, not pleasing at all. I'm going wait, this is a limited edition, high quality piece, there is no way it would get through with any problems, yet, there it was. So yesterday, Tuesday, I contacted this guitar forum, and explained what was happening, questioning the manufacturing of the instrument. I get a response, 'Are you by any chance playing under a ceiling fan?' Which of course I was, I am in Florida, and its hot. So last night, pulled her out, plucked those strings, yep distortion, turned off the fan, and she sang out clear as a bell. Like I said, I can be an idiot sometimes.
