Sometimes boring is better....
Well, I've still had no news on my last MRI which was done at Walter Reed on April 15. I'm not so much concerned with what they found, but rather when they want me back. It seems to be a pattern with the MRI lately...yes, there's still a spot on my liver but it's not changing size or shape so this is good. My concern is that with my husband leaving at end of summer, well we're running out of available time to squeeze in everything we need to get done. With any luck the docs have decided to make the next test in 6 months instead of 3 and then the only thing we'll need to figure out is how to get it fit into August when we're also trying to get to California to see hubby's parents before he leaves. If that's the biggest problem we have right at this point in time....I'll take it!
Also, hubby was gone for 17 days straight and guess what? I'm still here LOL I won't lie and say it wasn't hard to do everything around here myself....I had days where I was so tired I didn't want to move and goodness knows the kitty litter had seen better days (I still need to work on taking care of that on a rather long-term basis as I am still unable to change it myself but at least I can maintain it, but 17 days is nothing compared to a month....or many many months). All in all by the time he got home I was so relieved that I cried and miracle of all miracles, he didn't complain once about helping out with one or two things that really needed done. And he said he was proud of me for handling things so well while he was gone. You know, years ago I would've almost been insulted by that seeing as how I was always so in control and did everything by myself. Now....well, that one compliment made me feel like I had just saved the world all by myself. It's odd how the way you look at yourself, how you realize what you are not capable of but yet what you are still able to accomplish means the world to you. Gee, I'm to the point to where cleaning the apartment is reason to make me cry because I'm so happy I can do it by myself whereas before I thought nothing of spending a whole day doing not only that but also running errands and making dinner, attending classes and working a full-time job. Oh well...I take it where I can get it and that's good enough for me :)
Next is my visit to my specialist in a week and then to my primary care doc the week after that. I have a feeling that my specialist is going to mess with my dosage of Lactulose again and then I'm really going to lose it. He'll raise it back up again, I just know it. I'm also going to Ohio for several weeks to see my mother. That's troubling me only because before I go my husband will be gone and I'll be leaving right before he gets home....with his schedule this means I will hardly see him the entire month of June and also most of July as he will be gone then too. Sometimes this military wife thing really kills me but then I look around and see not really WHAT I have but WHO I have it with and I know he's worth it.
Other than that I'm just trying to do all the right things still....my diet is getting even better because with all the hot days we recently had I was happier making fresh meals at home (also, with him gone I cook things he won't eat...lots of things with fresh veggies and such because incase I never mentioned it, he's afraid to eat anything from the veggie family....what a wierdo LOL). All in all, I can't complain...well, I could but why bother? If things are a bit quiet and boring right now all the better because it gives me a chance to breath and work on some writing, have some peaceful moments to myself and also not to think so much about anything bad that can happen. I'm content for the time being to accept the way things are even if there are a few bumps in the road....
God bless....
