Something positive!

I finally had my appointment with the neurosurgeon.  I was hoping they would find that it was an error, that there was no aneurysm after all.  That would have been the best case scenario.  I think I had the second best.  It is smaller than was first suggested - I guess it depends on the angle.  They told me the options for surgery (which I didn't want anyway) craniotomy or vascular.  I didn't want my skull cut open (unless there was no other option) and I wasn't keen on them pushing a wire up from my groin to the mid brain!  Either option was not all appealing. But they then said that due to the bizarre shape of my aneurysm, surgery was not really recommended.  In other words, the chance of a catastrophic reaction due to surgery is greater than it would be left alone.  I asked about climbing and altitude.  He said there was no problem, just don't go bungy jumping!  It hadn't been my intention so I am happy.  The trip to the Galapagos and Peru are still on.
They said that normally, people go in to have scans yearly, but in my case they saw no value in it.  I just have a card and can call them if I need to.
On the friend and family front: Andrew is doing much better.  Still lacking energy but able to work and concentrate.  My friend is now talking about moving back to Edmonton where she owns a condo.  Her renter is moving out in a month.  She lived there before and it was not a good plan.  She called to ask me if I wanted stuff.  She is giving everything away.  She said she is emptying her fridge.  I asked what she was going to eat.  She said that she will go to restaurants.  I then asked her if she was suicidal.  I get nervous when people start to give stuff away.  I told her that I was not ready to lose anyone else.  She assured me that she was okay.  I hope she is right.  She wanted me to go to Edmonton with her today but I just didn't have the stamina.  I had already promised to do dinner and a movie with another friend who is having a birthday.
So now I need to bake a cake for Lorraine.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Lisa:  I miss you always and love you forever.

Good news on your aneurism, sounds like it\'s just \"one of those things\", wherein you\'ll have to be careful but no future medical plan is needed. Bood luck with the cake and it sounds like you have a well thought-out plan. Go out and enjoy you life and I think that\'s what Lisa and all our children would want us to do. Sucks but so does the alternative. Luck and love to you. BarbaraWawa

I hope your friend has other support to be with her. Coping with stress alone can be an issue at times.

I\'m glad the doctor cleared you to travel.

Take good care.

Good new! Now you don\'t have to shave your head....or recuperate wondering if your brain is different, that would drive me crazy!! Doesn\'t take much, but getting older is sure a challenge. Things growing in our bodies where they shouldn\'t. Like my kidney cist, which I am keeping, too.

Love you and glad you can continue in your own way, your own life, Abby

This is encouraging news and I know how much you love to travel so glad that your wonderful plans are still in full swing.

Grateful to hear that Andrew is feeling better and that you asked your friend if she had a plan to end her life or not. That takes courage to ask because you have to be ready for what you may hear in response.

Hope you got the birthday cake made and have enjoyed your evening with Lorraine.

Please remember your new \"jumping\" restrictions and take care dear Marlene.

Love to Lisa and to you.
