something is missing

Today I woke up and I felt really lonely. I felt as if nothing could ever fill that void. Lately I have been thinking a lot! I've been feeling like maybe that feeling is just needing to get closer to god. I attended a church that's near my house, it did feel good to be there. It was a familiar homey feeling. I was raised in a Catholic home and we went to church every sunday, as a young adult I became a peer minister. I was there so I can give teens what I got out of it. I later quit because I felt as if my fellow peer ministers were only there to get the college scholarship that was promised to us. I then turned away from church, even though I always prayed and still had faith. Then at some point I became agnostic, which to me meant I was confused as hell and didn't know what to believe. So I went to church on Sunday and I am hoping that I can get back into it. I am such a bad catholic but I am hoping they will welcome me back. I am also hoping maybe there are some people that go there.
I talked to my dad on the phone, I called because I needed to hear a familiar voice. I started to tear up because I miss him and I feel so alone. I got off the phone and pretty much lost it. I couldn't stop crying. I know that the reason this is effecting me so much is because I am currently unemployed, I have too much time to think. Too much time to think about stupid things. I am a homebody, I like staying home. I also hate being alone(if this makes any sense) but I don't know that many people. I started a group on meetup.com but I have only met a couple people through it. It is sooo hard to meet friends at this age!
I just have to keep reminding myself this is all a learning lesson and that I will make it through the loneliness. Ughh! I do feel better after going to the gym and writing this out!
