Something Inside
The past few weeks I've been focused (maybe hyper-focused!) on trying to resolve my issues, to "work on me" & my half of my relationships. Pretty much all else has been cleared off my plate: women's bible study, teaching Sunday School, even my daily walks (which may not be a good thing, but this is temporary). All that's left (as far as doing for others goes) is taking care of the kids, going to church, and our once/twice a month Bible Study at my friend's house. And of course there is my "me time": my favorite TV shows (a select few), my genealogy, a little bit of reading and Facebooking.
So anyway, I've noticed a little change inside of me (kind of like on "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"--"it started in low, and it started to grow!"). Kind of a peace, a quietness, a feeling of being surrounded by good things. I mean, other than cutting out some of the unnecessary, my circumstances really haven't changed all that much. I don't even know if my behavior is all that different.
Yet there is this little bitty refuge inside of me. Perhaps some inner strength is growing? I sure hope so! I hope it grows into something that can make me stand firm through the emotional turbulence that creeps up in life.
