something I read...

I read this recently and couldn't agree with it more!  Thought I'd post it to my journal, to share. "When discipline is imposed from the outside, it may be problematic.  But when it comes from the inside, with knowledge of what is helpful and what is harmful, then we develop the wish to refrain from what is harmful.  This is discipline imposed by our own mind, with an understanding of the consequences and the benefits of our actions."  - - The Dalai Lama

Unless of course you get into the realms of self harm where the person believes in having the power over their own punishment.

Take care

Guess I hadn\'t considered it like that. I was thinking more about when I quit smoking and how easy it was because I knew, deep down, how bad it was for me. Once I admitted that to myself it was easy to make the decision to not to smoke anymore.

See there is always more than one way to look at things.
Glad you gave up smoking.

Yeah ... I quit last year. It\'s been long enough now that I can officially call myself a \"non-smoker!\" :-)

I gave up in Nov 1978 after my first RAF assault course. Now even the smell of someone else smoking makes me feel dirty.
Nothing worse than a reformed smoker.lol

At least now it is over a year all those impulse tendencies have subsided.
Caffiene is better for you.
According to the Readers Digest for June says that fresh filtered coffee will reduce colesterol..............mine should be at zero.lol
