Some New Realizations

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Philippians 3:12-14Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Rom 12:2Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Concept of being on a journey. God only reveals "so much" to us; not meant for us to see all, doesn't expect us to see all, but He'll meet us where we are at in our journies.

Perfectionism about where we are in life aims at being all things at all times; there is no journey involved; it is static. Doesn't even assume a process/journey. (i.e. taking all of Prov 31 to heart; we must be "all that" or we are nothing)

You can't do everything all the time. You can do some things at certain times. And even these "things" are part of a process; a step. And it's OK to be at whatever step; it's probably the TIME to be at that step.

This is a good thing for me to know, since I'm so impatient with myself. There are no "shoulds" here, just "it's OK to be at this point; it's part of the process."
