Some Light

This morning I read that they are opening up beaches in our county for walkers early in the morning and evening time.

Yesterday I had my counseling session and left with no clarity at all.  I went to Roomies and picked up my mail.  It was nice seeing him.  The house was a mess and he quickly handed me his pill bottles to organize his pills for him.  Again, I felt overwhelming guilt.

The counselor did remind me that there are 2 grown men in my life and I need to let them take care of theirselves.  I need to let go for awhile and see how they do-stop trying to control the situation.  Thankfully, Joe is out instcarting today and making money.  He needs to feel useful-I know the feeling.  When I have no goal-i lose focus and spiral.  I woke up thankful this morning for the little house I'm staying in.  Feels like camping.  Joe built a nice campfire this morning and we drank our coffee, then, I was off to work.  No work today-waiting on mail to get here so I can start billing.

I was talking today and Roomie told me that the Mayo clinic is empty and actually laying off people-my question is...where are all the sick people?  I know the media is blowing every thing ot of proportion.  I don't agree with everything Trump says and does but, he is our president and we need to support him.  In all my 47 years, I've never seen a president treated so badly-it's sad.  It's the one time everyone needs to set politics aside and unite.

I think the clarity is that you have two grown ass men in your life that need/can/ should take care of themselves. They won't if you're doing stuff for them. Your roommate handing you his pill to organize is because you taught him to expect that. So set the guilt aside and let him take care of himself. You aren't their mommy.

It is very strange right now. I live in Wisconsin and the govenor just extended our stay at home order to end of May. It was supposed to end the last week in April. I think that was a reactive decision on his part. But I guess time will tell. My county built a make shift hospital at our state fair grounds incase our hospitals get full, They are not full. There are sick people. We aren't immune, but when you have 5 million people in a state, with 3,900 or so positive tests, 41,000 negative tests and 197 deaths, extendig the stay at home order feels extreme. I don't want people to die. I just think this is not sustainable and people eventually may get the virus anyway or not. I do though know it's easy to second guess the decisions being made from the comfort of my work from home office. I do think people will start revolting at some point. The lack of income, loss of jobs, closing of schools and lack of social interaction can set some people back to where they don't come back from that. I guess where I struggle is all the people in government deciding these things are still drawing a paycheck. So it seems tone deaf to talk about concern with people's lives and not realizing this too is about people's lives.

RMB,

I totally get it-I think the stimulus checks were a drop in the bucket on what people need-but it's something. Problem is, by the time they get them out we may all be back to normal or somewhat on the way.

I know. And honestly I'm surprised they started issuing stimulus checks for folks as quickly as they did because it always seems that massive type of effort gets caught into a lot of red tape processes. I think you're right that by the time the checks all get out, it may be kind of a moot point for some folks although it might help bury people out if they got in a deep hole during this time.

Keep hanging in there!!!

I haven't received my stimulus check yet.....not that I need it but just wondering why.

I really think when we get to know someone, we get accustomed to the things they do for us. So that when they are no longer there, we just let it slide. An example is roomies pill bottle and... I remember when my ex wife moved out, I was use to her doing all the cleaning and when she moved out,, I let the house get messy because I just wasn't use to doing all the dusting and the dishes and what not. So I allowed things to slide and waited until the sink was overflowing with dirty dishes before I would do them. But that was 5 years ago. Now I keep the house much more clean then I use to, especially if I know company is coming over to visit, but it took a long time of her not being with me, for me to realize, that I was the one responsible for that so I do a much better job now.

Sage don't feel guilty, just teach roomie how to do things for himself.

Medical Parks and their waiting rooms give me the heebeegeebees on the best of days. Antiseptics breed super microbes and med parks are random access petri dishes. Keep up with doctor visits during this madness? ? ? You're kidding, right? Not even for the children. Someone from the pediatrics clinic called to try to talk us into continuing with the wellness checks and immunizations which were in progress before the Corona Crowning. They described the precautions they were taking and visions from post-apocalyptic movies sprang to life in their descriptions.

Keep your proper social distance, masked ones. 1/4 mile to the end of the driveway.
