Some good News! FINALLY, aye?

30Jul13 5:25pm  Dare I even say... good news is in the forecast?  Yikes - don't want to jinx myself for sure.

UPDATE JULY 2013

I went to the Cape Cod Pain Clinic and actually found a great doc!  Dr. Kelly had 2 very good ideas on ways to lessen my pain.  One was using some electrical leads (they actually put the leads in your spine!) and basically ZAP the pain away.  Yes, I know, I'm wicked technical!  The second was to insert a pain pump (about the size and shape of a hockey puck) and dispense the med to the affected areas only.  The med might be something like lidocaine, which is what numbs you when your dentist goes crazy on your teeth!  And the good news on both these is that they don't require narcotics.  Such a wonderful relief to think of life with less meds!!

The second doc was in Boston at Beth Isreal (BIDMC), Dr. Freedman.  I'm hoping the name is sorta a signal that I'll soon be FREED from this hellish CP pain!  He is the director of the pancreatic center and unlike my last doc, Dr. Brown, he's very much a go getter and wants things to be done in a timely manner.  Like every week or so, something should be advanced.  Not going up there, it may just be a new test or meeting with my GP, but SOMETHING should be done.  Dr. Freedman was very definite that I shouldn't be left hanging for months on end with no plan.  So, this Thurs (8/1), I'm going to BIDMC to get a procedure/surgery done - something new finally!   It's called a EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasonography) and it's SUPPOSED to be a quickie out patient procedure.  This is a sure fire way to tell if I have CP (chronic pancreatitis) or not.  It's new I think, which is why they didn't do it before.  Once that's established (CP vs. NOT CP), I go on to other treatments.  He seems smart and on the ball.  AND he acutally RETURNS calls!  (or his minions do)

Well, hope that's enough without being too much, ya know?  Now if only my teeth and toes would stop breaking!  Oh well, mustnt (must not - how does one say that in contraction?) get greedy, aye?  Love to all and hope this summer brings much joy and blessings to everyone.  Love ya, Nibs :)
