Sobriety

I have been thinking a lot about this and the "competition" of abstinent days. I don't think sobriety and abstinence are the same thing. For me abstinence means exactly what it says, abstaining from alcohol. Sobriety is much greater than just abstinence. It's a mindset, a thoughtful and present way of dealing with life. I have been sober since December 30. My whole way of thinking and reacting to life has taken a more positive turn and for that I am grateful. Who cares about abstinent days when sober days are so much more valuable!!!
