Sober for Six
I am sober for six months as of today. I reflect on the path traveled and that which lays ahead. So hopeful I am now compared to the man I was 6 months ago. I had so little life left in me and what was left was soon to be snuffed out by my own hands. I could not live anymore with alcohol, and I could not imagine my life without it. I had but a few choices, but I feel that I chose the right one. Life is slowly getting better for me. Much has to do with God's will, grace and mercy. I am happy that my faith has been thus rewarded. I am not proud though. My higher power is doing for me, what I could not do for myself. I am sure more troubles and difficulties will rain on me. My faith will remain, my sobriety with it. I embrace my new life and pray in absolute humility that God has given it to me
