Soaking in the grandeur

I made my appointments and it looks like I am getting back on track. I saw my counselor last night. It had been weeks since I saw her last. It was nice to be able to talk to someone about the month I'm having. She gave me a pin that has a cross, a cup and bread on it..I guess its called a communion pin (I'm not Catholic). She was inspired to get it for me. She wanted me to know that God is ALWAYS with me even in the dark times. I wept. I hung out with my son and my b/f. We went to lunch and had a fun time there, we laughed and the food was good (shocked a few people though..lol). After lunch we went and walked a trail and then a trail into the woods next to the river and swamp. It was soo nice to be in the woods again, I had been wanting to do that for such a long time. It was fun. My b/f is from NYC and isn't used to the "challenges" of the forest, he likes the "concrete jungle". As a young child and teenager I would escape to the forest when family and life got too chaotic, where I would "commune" with God. I would sit, listen and soak up God's greatness, beauty and charm. Sitting for what seemed like an eternity I lost all concept of space and time. This was my safe place, the place where I could do what I needed. I was lead there. God spoke to me there. He showed His love for me in all that was around me. I believe that it was created for me. Going back to the woods yesterday even for that brief moment in time was refreshing. I even cried thinking of all the times I spent soaking in the grandeur when I was young. I now know where I can go to escape the chaos in my life...to a simple, yet complex place, to soak in all that God has afforded me. Praise God!
