So very thankful

I just had a wonderful, quite thanksgiving day.  I got to spend the day with my mom and dying father.  It was nice to come over there and help out with them meal and fix some hurricane damaged things for them.  I also just got back from an AA meeting with gratitude was the topic.  I have never in my life had so many friends as I do now thanks to AA.  When I first started AA I felt pretty miserable about the whole sobriety things.  I am now on working on my 10th month and for the first time in my adult life I am a "man."  More importantly I have realized just how blessed I am to have what I do have and to be alive.  My higher power which I call God has blessed me with so much.  I have sobriety and a wonderful AA family.  I still have my family eventhough my father is not long for this world.  I am no longer subject to the marriaged that sucked the very life out of me.  I have two jobs when some people would be happy with just one.  I have 3 beautiful, smart, healthy, lovable children that I am a pround to be the dad of.  I may not have gotten to see or talk to them today, but I have there love in my heart. I have a roof over my head, a car outside, and food in my stomach.  Most importantly I have a kind loving careing God that has done for me what I could not do for myself.  I am alone, but not lonely. Sleepy but not tired.  Thirsty, but not for alcohol.  Besides salvation, sobriety has been the best gift of all.  I thank God that I am sober today and have the ability to be thankful for all the blessings that my Heavenly father has chosen to give to me.  Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll
