So very sleepy...
Today I woke up as I have for the last few days; exhausted following a night full of nightmares and poor sleep. It was a struggle to get myself physically up and out of bed but I had to make a phone call before a place closed so I put all my effort into it and flung myself (slowly) out of bed. Normal routine ensued; grab my 10mg HC pill, swallow it down, and head in to the restroom to use the facilities and await the onset of my meds kicking in. It seemed to take forever, but about 35min later I could feel the fog lift...a bit. Came back to my office, made the phone call, drank an Ensure because I felt too weak to cook anything and then I headed in to the bedroom to wake up my wife.
I just felt so very tired the whole time. It wasn't just today either, I've felt this way for days now, like I am laden with sand bags. I also felt a bit cold, so I went back in to bed to warm up a bit after initially waking my wife. Her meds have a side effect of drowsiness so it is normal for her to be hard to wake up. Normally after my morning dose of HC I'm energetic enough that resting my head won't send me back to sleep. Not today though. I was trying to keep myself awake by talking to my half-asleep wife, and I remember I felt so tired that I was having trouble forming the sentences in my mind. You know when you're so tired that trying to move something heavy just makes your muscles ache? I felt that but with forming thoughts. I literally felt too tired to finish my thoughts in my head and half of my sentences never made it out of my mouth. Well, I fell back to sleep. It turned out to only be for about 45min, but it felt like hours, and this time it was my wife trying to wake me up. She says I was very hard to wake up and that I was nearly unresponsive. She was about to get me to the ER when I started to snap out of it. She had pulled the covers off of me just before that and that is what did the trick... I was badly overheated. I must have had a fever while sleeping. As I cooled off I started to regain clarity and become more alert.
I still feel tired and fatigued, but I'm mentally alert now. I wish I knew what to do. I don't think increasing my HC dose is the answer right now, despite a low energy level. I think my testosterone might be bottoming out, and I know I'm under way too much stress for me to handle now. Maybe it is just those two factors coupling with my AD.
