SO THERE WAS THIS PREGNANT LADY
So there was this pregnant lady standing in front of Wal-Mart out by the road. She was holding a sign saying that she needed gas money and food. I had Lynn turn around so we could go and talk to her. She was from some place like Russia and didn't speak much English. I told Lynn we could get her a $40 Wal-Mart card because if it was a scam she couldn't use it like cash. He waited in the pick up while I went in and bought the card. While I was in there, he got to thinking that maybe it was scam. We had to go to the bread store anyway so I told him we could at least get her a couple of loaves of bread and some pea nut butter and jelly. So we went to the bread store. I saw a plastic jar full of mini crackers and picked that up as well. She said she had small children. All the jelly said it had to be refridgerated so we got some honey instead. Okay, so where the hell is spell check?
We went back to Wal-Mart and called the lady over to us. AS we were handing the grocery bags out of the car, her husband and son came running out of the van. She opened the jar of crackers and grabbed a handful and handed the jar to her son. As she handed the jar to her son she fell upon the crackers like she hadn't eaten in days. Around a mouth full of crackers she kept saying, "Thank you, thank you. God bless you, God bless you." And it made me think of all the money that Lynn and I have wasted at the casino. Her husband was looking everywhere except at the food, like he didn't want to take anything from his wife or child. When Lynn saw the little boy tears filled his eyes. He called the father over and gave him the Wal-Mart card and showed him the gas pumps over at the Sam's club next door. They had Arizona plates and said they were trying to get back there to family. He had come looking for work.
We ended up going back into Wal-Mart for more food. I had to go to the bathroom, so while I was doing that Lynn went and got two cases of water, eight cans of pork and beans and some water melon. While we were standing in line I saw some fresh cooked chicken strips and grabbed those too and a bottle of cold water for the mom. It was in the high 80's. We went by their van and they were all in there eating like they were starving. We gave them the new groceries that we had bought and blessed them as we left. We may have been scammed, but that baby ate at least one day.
We only went into town for the bread store and to get supplies to fix the hole in our ceiling. We got our supplies but no work was done that day.
So the next day Lynn had to get his DOT physical. No work that day either.
Thursday we had to travel 75 miles to pick up his new uniforms. We stopped by a Furniture store I had been wanting to go to for some time. No, we didn't qualify for a new fridge, but we know we have $1000 credit if one of our airconditioners goes out. Then we went to the pound to look for another dog. Heartbreaking.
We saw a an older man trying to change a tire in the rain when Lynn went to cash a check. I asked him to help the guy and he said no, that the man wasn't that much older than him. Well, okay. So he went in and cashed his check. I was playing candy crush. I wasn't paying attention when he walked up and asked me to find something to clean his hands. He had gone and changed that man's tire. lol

So, I feel that in doing for these people, you did it for God!!!
We often feel like these things are all scams. But, God puts opportunities like this in front of us all the time.
Until 7 years ago I lived in Philadelphia, PA where the homeless situation was overwhelming. I remember one time an older man said to me, \"PLEASE help me. I\'m HUNGRY and I have DIABETES. PLEASE MISS.\" Although there are many scammers on the street, this time I felt in my gut that I needed to help. I gave him a few dollars. Some people say, \"Oh, they will just spend it on booze or drugs.\" In this case, I just KNEW the man was telling the truth. I have rarely seen such ANGUISH in a human being\'s eyes. I KNOW I DID WHAT JESUS WOULD HAVE DONE.
