So Relieved! (Use of weight and numbers)
I had my appointment with my pdoc this morning and I feel SO much better. We explained everything that happened yesterday again and he asked if it would be ok to weigh me because we were now unsure of who's scales were right. I agreed because I was now really scared because I thought my scales were inaccurate. Turns out ours at home are right and I am 5 stone 12 lbs which is what my scales said this morning. My GP's were VERY wrong saying I was only 5 stone 9 lbs, which is actually more astonishing because he thought I was lower, and he was still so dissmissive. Although when you read on, you'll see that I don't think he was really taking much notice of anything anyway. My pdoc then took us back to his room and phoned my GP whilst we were there like he said he would do. When he first spoke to my GP, my GP said that when he weighed me yesterday I was 7 stone.....not listening, exactly. I wouldn't weight 7 stone if I had my coat on at the moment! My pdoc KNEW this was wrong because he's just weighed me. He wasn't impressed. He explained the situation once again to my GP and it seems that he was listening properly to him because he is now agreeing with my pdoc. He's now left it with my GP to start making the arrangements for me to be referred to the local eating disorder unit (the private one which accepts NHS). There was a risk of not getting into this unit and this was worrying. The thought of going into a normal NHS hospital was terrifying. I can just imagine trying to recover and eat with the slop they would serve. I know Cygnet Hospital will be lovely because it's under the private sector. Plus I've been in it's sister hospital for the Bipolar and it was so nice in there. The staff really care and the food was out of this world! Out of interest my pdoc asked my GP if he knew of any other eating disorder units in the area but as I thought and I had research...there are NONE apart from this one. This makes me feel even better about getting treatment. They shouldn't be able to refuse treatment here when they can't offer anything else. My GP has told my pdoc that he will contact him after the weekend to let him know how he's getting on. The relief of things going ahead finally is unbelievable. I had such a horrible day yesterday and lost all hope but today it's all changed an my hope has been restored. I know I've rambled on in this post too but if your still reading...thank you :) I'll keep you updated with what is happening as it happens
