so much for the detour....
finally got word back....there will be no extension of the cinical trial that i have been involved with. i am available for other trials....there are currently 5 promising ones going on right now....i am not acceptable for four of them though and the fifth has closed the enrollment.....
my pulmo when questioned about getting Pirfenex (the only medicine that is available to treat Pulmonary Fibrosis) online from outside of the US, only had negative to say. "it does not work" odd statement. it is used in 50 nations other than the US....."it would wrong to acquire it from online.." odd since so many MD's assist their patients to do so....."drugs from India are not good. they have no standard of excellence.." odd since a lot of medicine here in the US is imported from other countries including India.....
so, i feel confused. is my pulmonologist right? is his consensus better than the average dr? or are his viewpoints skewed because his focus is drug trials, that are sponsored by big Pharm?
i asked my GP a while back on her opinion regarding the matter. she was not necessarily in favor of buying drugs online, much less from India, but she said, if it were her, that would be the thing that she would do since there are so few other options available. she even said that she would monitor my health if i did. she even implied that she might write a prescription for me to pursue that if needed.
so who is right? is there a right answer? am i chasing rainbows? am i allowing myself to be deceived? raising false hopes? or do unicorns really exist.....
