So many wasted years

I feel like I wasted my best years in a miserable, unhealthy, neglectful relationship. Two positive outcomes are my boys, but I can remember in my early 30s and maybe 3 years into the marriage I was beside myself thinking omg is this how I'm going to spend the rest of my life? Sleeping in separate rooms, beggining for attention, affection. I want to find love again. I want to be in love. I grew distant and cold because I wasn't getting my emotional needs met. I want to be loved and to give love, real love with romance, passion, chemistry, and respect.

I\'m sorry to hear that you felt miserable so early on in your marriage and feel that part of your life was wasted. I agree with wanting to feel loved and respected. I used to have that, but then it went away when I started to come into my own more than ever before in our marriage - and was rejecting our lifestyle and way of communicating (or lack thereof) in our marriage about the tough stuff.

Are you spending time with friends, family, and yourself - who love and respect you?

Well I\'m an import and have only my boys here. I have wonderful, supportive coworkers, and my greatest support is just a phone call away. Thanks. I\'m glad you found you true self and the courage to make positive however painful changes in your life. It will only get better.
